Five brand new trendy colors will premiere in the NEW 2019 – 2020 Annual Catalog, available on June 4. You'll find a complete collection of products in these new colors, including cardstock, ink, refills, markers, Designer Series Paper, ribbon and embellishments. And, we'll even have four of the colors represented in Stampin' Blends Markers!
Let's take a closer look at each of the colors and see how they compare with current and past colors that are similar!
Purple Posy—I'm always excited to have another purple join our color lineup! Purple Posy is a very light pastel shade that will beautifully complement the purples we already have. We have not had any purple quite like it! It's super soft, like Soft Sea Foam and Petal Pink, so I'm looking forward to pairing it with those colors. Old colors like Pale Plum, Wisteria Wonder and Almost Amethyst are very different, so this unique color will have lots of room to shine!
Purple Posy Ink Availability—When Purple Posy was released as part of the demo pre-order, it was discovered that the ink pad and refill ink were having some foaming issues. Stampin' Up! pulled the defective products and has made the ink pad and refill unavailable while they work on the issue. These inks will not be available when the catalog is released, but we'll have the Purple Posy Stampin' Write Marker and Stampin' Blends Marker to tide us over until the inks become available again. It will likely be a couple months from now.
Pretty Peacock—Teals and purples are my favorite, so I welcome the rich Pretty Peacock color with open arms! I've been missing Island Indigo since it retired and this color, while a little more green, will help me get over my sadness! The current Shaded Spruce and soon-to-retire Tranquil Tide are both a little more green than this color. It's actually kind of a mix of Tranquil Tide and Not Quite Navy…truly a lovely shade! It will be the perfect color to use with the NEW Royal Peacock Bundle. This color will be very versatile for nature scenes with water and trees. I think it will be a color that goes with a lot of different colors, almost like a neutral…similar to Night of Navy & Mossy Meadow. It will look amazing with other blues & greens, earthy colors and maybe even a pop of red! Can't wait to play with color combinations for this one!
Seaside Spray—Oooh…I immediately thought Pretty Peacock would be my favorite, but this color is very intriguing! I love this grayed blue! It reminds me of a stormy sky and it will be definitely add a refreshing twist to Balmy Blue or Pool Party color combinations. Like Purple Posy, I couldn't find any Stampin' Up! color that was very similar. It's much lighter than Bordering Blue, which was the only other gray blue color. This is the color that's featured on the front of the NEW Annual Catalog, so I can see that it looks amazing with Night of Navy, Old Olive, Mossy Meadow and Crumb Cake. I'm curious about what other colors you would pair with this cool new blue.
Terracotta Tile—This color is exactly what you think of when you think of terracotta pots! It's a beautiful, rich red-orange that will add a warm, earthy tone to stamped projects. Calypso Coral is a similar current color that has a little less brown to it. Watermelon Wonder is has a little more red and old Dusty Durango (anyone remember that one?) is like a darker version of Terracotta Tile. I couldn't find retired Really Rust or Ruby Red in my stack of retired papers, but it would be interesting to see their comparisons. I can see this color used successfully with most of the neutrals, greens like Old Olive and Mossy Meadow and blues like Seaside Spray and Night of Navy.
Rococo Rose—With all of the floral images that Stampin' Up! carries, I love having another gorgeous flower color! This dusty rose shade is soft and vintage! Once again, we haven't really had a color quite like it. It's a darker, more muted color than either the current Flirty Flamingo or retired Regal Rose. I thought Primrose Petals might be similar, but it's much lighter. I can see this elegant shade combined with earthy browns like Soft Suede and Early Espresso, darker greens like Old Olive, Mossy Meadow, softer colors like Petal Pink and So Saffron and darker colors like Blackberry Bliss and Merry Merlot.
