Usually, I have my Wow Techniques Class on the second Friday of the month, but since I'm at Leadership this week, my class is rescheduled for Friday, January 18, at 6:30pm. Will you be joining us?!
This is one of the card designs we'll be creating at my Wow Techniques class next week! We'll be using the parts and pieces from the Hearts A Flutter Bundle to create a pretty, sparkly Valentine's banner card!
I love the combination of Primrose Petals and Pool Party for Valentine's Day! I'm not really a "pink" kinda girl, so it's a nice change from the traditional colors of the holiday. I used Primrose Petals as the card base, then added a 5-1/2" x 2" strip of the Core'dinations Primrose Petals card stock that I embossed with the Honeycomb Folder.
I lightly sanded the texture with the Stampin' Sanding Block to bring out the lighter core shade of the Core'dinations paper.
Although I love the Honeycome Folder, nothing beats the Lacy Brocade texture when you combine it with sanding on the Core'dinations card stock. It's so, so soft and feminine!
The banner includes lots of fun pieces for a cute, hanging collage. Here I stamped the chevron heart image from Hearts A Flutter in VersaMark Ink and embossed it with the new Pool Party Embossing Powder. It's die-cut with the matching Hearts A Flutter Framelits.

Next, I stamped the striped Hearts A Flutter banner with Pool Party Ink, and cut it out with the same Framelits set and adorned with a Rhinestone Jewel.
Sale-A-Bration Sneak Peek: The Ciao, Baby! sentiment is inked in Primrose Petals, then punched with a cool new Petite Curly Label Punch that you'll be able to earn for FREE during Sale-A-Bration (starts January 22).
The large Primrose Petals scalloped heart also comes Hearts A Flutter, and it has a matching Framelit, too! The More Amore Designer Series Paper was used for the smaller die-cut heart popped up in the center.
The final Silver Glimmer Paper banner comes from another Hearts A Flutter Framelits die-cut shape—man, I'm loving the banners! I topped this one off with a textured Pool Party Heart created with the awesome Fasionable Hearts Embosslit!
Hanging Banner Tips: You could punch holes in your banners to actually string them with the White Baker's Twine, or you could cheat a little to get the same look. I simply wrapped a piece of the Twine around the card front and let it drape loosely before tying it.
Then, I adhered each banner with Dimensionals, sticking the foam lightly to the twine and gently pulling it into a "hanging" position before adhering it firmly into place. It works SO MUCH EASIER than fighting with hanging banners that are flipping and twirling and getting stuck to the card stock in the wrong place. Been there, done that.
