I don't know about you, but my head is spinning with all of the awesome new promotions that Stampin' Up! has announced this week. Between those, and getting ready for Sale-A-Bration, and all of the fabulously informative tips that were shared a Leadership, I'm overflowing with excitement and enthusiasm!
Today, I thought I share a few of my favorite moments from Leadership 2013 in Orlando, FL…
A Photo With Shelli!—It's always a highlight for me to get a photo with Shelli Gardner, the CEO and co-founder of Stampin' Up! I was barely off the bus to our Manager's Reception on the first night and got a chance to pose with her. She is such an amazing person, so down-to-earth and you can tell she genuinely cares about Stampin' Up! demonstrators! Harry Potter Adventures!—Our Manager's Reception was at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter…oh what fun! I'm sure that it would have been much more magical if I had ever actually read the books or watched the movie (I know!), but it still was a fantastic experience! We had the whole place to ourselves and we ate shepard's pie, sampled decadent desserts, and tasted Butterbeer (which is very butterscotchy). I even rode the Dragon Challenge roller coaster with my new friend and roller coaster buddy, Carolee Crabbs! It was awesome!
Stamping Presentations!—We had lots of fantastic stamping presentations from members of the corporate team, as well as several demonstrators. I love learning new ways to use our latest products. So many ideas! Here are just a few…
Shelli showed us how we could stamp directly onto card stock with a Firm Foam Ink Pad for a colorful frame. Center your ink pad over the card front, lay it down carefully, then tap lightly around the edges of the pad. Let it dry and stamp a focal image in Basic Black on the inside. Cool idea!
Need an easy-to-make Valentine's treat for your child's class? Donna Griffth showed us a simple and cute idea. Use the laser-cut doilies from the More Amore Designer Series Paper pack adhered to the front of a lollipop. Add a simple sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes, a cute stamped and die-cut heart from Hearts A Flutter Bundle, and tie it with some Primrose Petals Stitched Ribbon or Real Red 1/8" Taffeta. Easy peasy!
You may have seen the Sweet Threads Simply Sent Kit that features a simple cross-stitching template, but you can also use the same templates with markers to create a polka dotted image! Sara Douglass showed this fun idea, then added an Itty Bitty Punch Pack flower and Rhinestone Jewel.
Big Announcements!—It's so much fun to be the first to hear the big announcements of new products and promotions! After the Dude, You're Welcome Kit was announced, we saw a few sample cards using that set, including this one. I love the "#%&@!" stamp! Says it all sometimes, doesn't it?! Here it's stamped in Cherry Cobbler and lined with Rhinestone Jewels around the edges. Love it!
Prize Patrol & All-Attendee Giveaways!—One thing I know for sure…prizes are exciting! I was lucky enough to win during one of the Prize Patrols! Yippee! I won the Oh, Whale! set and Happy Whale Clearlits Die. Yippee! Everyone took home door prizes with three all-attendee giveaways! One was Parker's Patterns DSP and the Just Thinking stamp. Another was in honor of the 25th Anniversary and featured silver items: Silver Glimmer Paper, Tea Time Trinkets, Silver Basics Buttons, and Designer Build-A-Brads. Cool!
The last giveaway was a brand-new birthday set that's coming out in the next Annual Catalog on June 1! Woohoo! My roommate, Mary Ellen Scheiber and I are holding our new sets…sorry, I had to cut out the images because we can't show actual products before they are released.
Meeting My Business Advisor!—I'm currently in a Business Development Program that Stampin' Up! is extending to managers. After several months of talking to her on the phone, I finally got to meet my advisor, ReNee Wright! She is such a sweet and wonderfully supportive coach and I'm so grateful to have her feedback (and kick in the butt) as I continue to improve my business for you!
PS: We'd both like you to know that this is not what our real hair looks like! Much like Monica on Friends, our hair doesn't respond well to crazy humidity!
Inspiring Messages!—No Leadership would be complete without some motivational words from the top leaders like Shelli, vice-president Pam Morgan, and president Rich Jutkins. Rich always has inspiring words, and I know to keep a tissue handy because he usually has us in tears with a heartwarming story. This year he had an uplifting message about remembering to focus on the "pearls" in our lives and on the true meaning behind the Stampin' Up! Statement of the Heart…
