Hi Stamping Friends!
Today's another busy day in the Too Cool Stamping Studio! I'm getting ready for a private class with some new friends at Concordia Seminary tonight. And, I'm putting together the supply order for my Traveler Class. Plus, I just received my official copy of the new Holiday Catalog, so I'm finalizing my plans for upcoming classes. Woohoo! Lots to do, but so much fun!
Blendabilities Markers Update—The remaining 6 colors of the Blendabilities will be available on August 1—that's this week! Yippee! You'll be able to purchase the entire line starting on Friday!
Upcoming Blendabilities Class—Just a heads up that my next TC Stamper Sampler Class on August 20, will be all about how to use Blendabilities! I'm not including markers in the class kit, because there won't be enough time to pre-order beforehand. But, if you're interested in taking the class, I encourage you to order some of these markers now in your favorite colors, so you'll be ready when the class becomes available.
Local Stampers—I'll have my own Blendabilities on hand for my local class participants to use, but if you don't want to wait to use them, bring as many of your own colors as you can. You're gonna want them by the time the class is over anyway…<wink>.
Look for more details about this Blendabilities Markers Class coming soon!

There's just one more card to show you from our Too Cool Demo Team shoebox swap. Today, we are looking at a lovely card that Jodi Geers brought for our group to create!
I love the clean, refreshing look of Jodi's card design. The die-cut square overlay gives you the feeling of peering out of a window, and the simple Old Olive and Whisper White colors are soft and soothing.
Die-Cut Window Background—We started with a 4-1/4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock. First we die-cut the window shape with the Squares Collection Framelits, then ran it through the Big Shot with the Woodgrain embossing folder.
TIP: Be very careful with your textured piece because it's kind of fragile. The top of my overlay actually ripped in two places, but I saved it! Fortunately, the woodgrain texture helped to hide my torn flaws.
Card Base Details—The card base is actually Old Olive. You'll notice that when I eventually adhered the white background, there was just a little bit of the Old Olive color peeking out at the bottom of the card. I don't think this was the look that Jodi had intended for her card, but I liked the pop of color on the bottom edge to balance the colors in the focal point.
Thoughtful Focal Point—The pretty tree and sentiment from the Thoughts & Prayers stamp set was stamped in Old Olive onto a 3-1/2" square piece of Whisper White card stock. We adhered the piece to the card base so that the images were centered underneath the window cut-out.
Modern Label Accent—Before adhering the textured window over the top, we added a little decorative detail to the bottom edge of the window. We punched a Modern Label Punch from Old Olive card stock, then folded it over about 1/3 of the way down. Then, we wrapped that fold around the window edge, punched it with a 1/8" Hole Punch, and added a Candy Dot Brad Base and Old Olive Candy Dot. I adore this unique embellishment!
Inside The Card—To finish off the card, we stamped another Thoughts & Prayers tree on copy paper, then added one of the longer phrases from the same set.
Did You Know Copy Paper Makes Cool Inside Layers?—By the way, my team members have gotten me addicted to using copy paper on the insides of cards. It's less expensive, it doesn't add to the bulk of the card, and it's easy to change out if you make a mistake. I adhered all sides of the copy paper here, but I've also seen stampers who only attach the copy paper with a line of SNAIL across the top, leaving the bottom to move freely. I love this tip! It actually makes the paper look a little more elegant when you adhere it that way. Too Cool! Thanks, Jodi & Vicki for the tip!
