Hi Stamping Friends!
I'm not gonna lie…things are getting holiday crazy around my Too Cool Stamping Studio! It's T-minus 10 days until my first craft fair and I'm feeling dreadfully behind with my craft projects. Along with mass-producing, I'm also cutting & prepping for my Countdown-To-Christmas Hang Your Stocking class tonight, and I'll be designing for next Star of Light class this weekend. Needless to say, my studio currently looks like a hurricane hit Santa's Workshop! It ain't pretty.
Still, as crazy as it's getting, I LOVE that I can spend my time creating stamped projects for my stamping friends! I love what I do and this busy time is my favorite time of the year!
Craft Fair Schedule—If you're in the Fort Wayne, IN, area, please stop by one of my craft fairs (9am – 3pm):
- November 12—Peace United Church of Christ Christmas Bazaar
- November 19—Indian Springs Middle School Yuletide Treasures Bazaar & Auction
- December 3—St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Christmas Craft Fair
Today, I'm sharing another pair of cards from my upcoming November Stamp-of-the-Month class kit featuring Jolly Friends!

Jolly Friends—Jolly Santa Washi Tape Cards
I knew when I was creating my November Stamp-of-the-Month Class-To-Go Kit that I wanted to have a card that highlighted the awesome Warmth & Cheer Washi Tape package! The colors and cozy patterns are traditional, yet whimsical. I thought they would make the perfect background for our cheerful Jolly Friends Santa!
Background Basics—The Whisper White background measures 3-7/8" x 5-1/8". Once the washi tape is all adhered, it's layered on a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black, then mounted on a Whisper White card base.
Wonderful Washi Tape—I started by adding one strip of Warmth & Cheer Washi Tape diagonally across the center of the Whisper White layer. Then I continued to add strips along the top and bottom until I filled the background about 3/4 of the way. I tried to alternate the strips for a nice balance of color. I tucked the ends of the strips around the back of the piece, and I did have to trim a little with Paper Snips around the corners.
Cheerful Greeting—I stamped the partial Tin of Tags greeting in Cherry Cobbler onto a 2-1/4" x 3-1/2" piece of Whisper White card stock. TIP: The full sentiment actually says, "Spread Some Christmas Cheer," but I used my Paper Snips to cut the photopolymer stamp into 2 pieces that will easily fit back together like a jigsaw puzzle if I want to stamp the whole image again later.
ON SALE NOW! Did you know that the Tin of Tags stamp set that I recommend using with my Jolly Friends class kit is on sale now for only $15.75?! That's 25% off! Get it during the month of November only: ►Tin of Tags (photopolymer)
I added a few Rhinestone Jewels to around the phrase for some sparkle!
The sentiment layer is matted onto a 2-3/8" x 3-5/8" piece of Basic Black, then popped up with Dimensionals.
Jolly Santa—I stamped the Jolly Friends Santa in Archival Black ink onto Whisper White, then hand-cut him out with super-sharp Paper Snips. Like the elf from yesterday's post, I colored in his face using Blushing Bride ink and an Aqua Painter. He's popped up with Dimensionals.
Jolly Hat—I used the coordinating Jolly Hat Builder Punch to create a Red Glimmer Paper Santa hat. The trim and ball are stamped with images from Jolly Friends, then punched with the Jolly Hat punch, too. The hat & ball are popped up with Dimensionals, and the trim is adhered with 3 Glue Dots.
Two Cool—For the second version of this card, I just wanted to play with the background a bit. This time, I kept the washi tape stripes going straight across. You could also just add some torn pieces of tape behind the whole focal point. I'll have to try that next! Which way do you like the washi tape best?
I also changed the sentiment to Garden Green. This is a quick & cute card that is super fun to assemble!
