Jolly Santa Hat Test Tubes

Oh My Goodness!  Are these Santa test tubes cute, or what?!  It seems like any kind of box or bag or container that you add a Santa buckle to is adorable and these are no exception!  I hope my craft fair attendees love them!

Santa test tubes - single

Test Tubes—You can find these 4" test tubes & corks in the October "Something Good To Eat" Paper Pumpkin Refill Kit, exclusively available to Paper Pumpkin subscribers.  Did you know that as a Paper Pumpkin Subscriber, you have access to purchasing past kits and refill kits?  It's true!  You get 16 test tubes in the Paper Pumpkin Kit.

Santa test tubes - back

Santa Belt—I cut a 2-1/2" x 1/2" strip of Basic Black for the belt.  I added a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive down the length of the belt, then before taking the backing paper off, I used a Bone Folder to curve the strip to help it wrap around the tube easily.

Santa Buckle—I had a retired 1/4" Square Punch so I punched the center hole of the buckle along a 1/2" strip of Silver Glimmer Paper, then holes out at a 1/2" width.  If you don't have a hole punch, cut 1/2" Silver Glimmer Squares, then add a 1/4" square of Basic Black card stock over the top with a Glue Dot.

Santa test tubes - cork decor

Jolly Santa Hat—I punched out a Cherry Cobbler hat with the Jolly Hat Builder Punch, then punched the trim and ball from Dazzling Diamonds Paper.  I added the trim pieces with a light bead of Multipurpose Glue.  To attach the hat, I punched a 1/8" hole in the top of the hat, then tied it onto the cork with the Candy Cane Lane Baker's Twine.

Don't forget, the Jolly Hat Punch is an optional Add-On to my Jolly Friends Stamp-of-the-Month Class Kit.

Santa test tubes - sixlets

Sweet Treats—I filled the test tubes with an 8-ball pack of Sixlets—it fits perfectly!  I bought them in bulk from Party City.

Complete Supplies List—"Clear" means a rubber stamp on a clear block. "Photopolymer" is see-thru.

  1. Great Idea! I used Christmas Washi tape around mine and put money in it for the grandkids. I found some Christmas Buttons and tied one on with red and green twine.
