I had a fantastic time at my Stamp Club event last night! The Never-Ending card was a big hit! You really need to try one yourself—you'll love it!
A couple of the Club members presented some of their own creations at our Show & Tell and I wanted to share some of them with you.
This card was created by Linda Cox for our July non-traditional size card challenge. She used the Blissful Bride set featured in the Summer Mini, along with the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder for the background. She even lined the envelope with matching decorative paper. Beautiful job, Linda!
Linda also brought an old Stampin' Up! stamp set that someone gave her…check this out!
Linda said the set had to come from the first few years that Stampin' Up! was in business (the company is 22 years old). The traditional, quality rubber is there, but it's mounted on a thick, black foam with an image sticker on top. Wow! Things have really changed since Shelly Gardner and her sister started the company out of their living room, huh? Cool find, Linda! I love the cute little boy's card you made with this set. The images sure have held up after all these years!
Carmen DeBruce brought lots of projects that she made while she was enjoying a stamping vacation last week. I adore Carmen's stamping enthusiasm, and it really shows in her work. She shared a couple fun card techniques for our July challenge: Use a technique you've never tried before.
She used the Scallop Trim Border Punch as a stencil on this card for a lovely border. You can see her scrap paper on the left, which she laid on top of her card and sponged on the Lovely Lavender ink. I have never thought of trying this, but it's a great idea! It gives a softer look than a punched scallop layer. Love it! The flower images are from With All My Heart, and it looks like she stamped again in VersaMark and used Iridescent Embossing Powder for a glittery look.
Carmen showed us another cool idea…rotating punches.
She punched a 6-petal flower (non-Stampin' Up!), then sponged some ink around the punched window on the card front.
Then, she sponged some ink on the punched out flower, covered it in Dazzling Diamonds, and adhered it over the window, slightly rotated.
That's another awesome idea I'd never thought to try! She finished the card with and Eyelet Border Punch and words from the Thank You Kindly set.
Here's another pretty card made by Carmen. I love the layout she used here. The Thoroughly Modern DSP, in Sahara Sand, Soft Suede, Rose Red and Taken With Teal colors, and the Bermuda Bay ribbon are both retired. She also used the Three Little Words set, Blossom Party Big Shot Die, and retired Star Designer Brads.
Carmen had lots more to show us (she likes to show me up that way) and I'll be featuring more of her projects over the next few days. If you are a fan of punch art, you won't want to miss it!
Thank you, Linda and Carmen, for allowing me to share your beautiful cards!
