Hi Stamping Friends!

This week, I'll be hosting my "Last Thursdays" monthly card class for my local Fort Wayne stampers! If you're in the area, I'd love for you to join us. Lovely Words With Floral Background Cards

The floral images from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set are so dainty and pretty! I used them along with some bold new washi tape to create a lovely floral background for my Lovely Words die-cuts!

Basic Elements—I started this card with a 4-1/4" x 4" piece of Whisper White. Before stamping the flowers, I added two patterns of the black & white Pick a Pattern Washi Tape along the top and bottom edges.

Floral Background—Next, I stamped the flowers & leaves from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set, leaving plenty of white space for my sentiment. Here's the order and what I used:

Stamp the solid larger flowers in Flirty Flamingo ink 3 times.
Stamp the small 5-petal flower in Marina Mist randomly in between.
Stamp the twig in Lemon Lime Twist in the larger white spaces.
Fill in the rest of the blank spaces with the leaf in Lemon Lime Twist.

I filled in the smaller blank spaces by making three little dots with the Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Write Marker. I love this little detail! It gives the background just a bit of country whimsy.

Sweet Sentiment—I die-cut the "friend" word from Basic Black using the Lovely Words Thinlits and the Precision Base Plate for awesome cutting. The word is attached to a larger oval die-cut shape, so I just used my Paper Snips to trim the outer part away. It's adhered to the layer using Multipurpose Glue lightly sponged onto the back.

I mounted the focal point onto a Lemon Lime Twist card base, then finished the look with three floating Pearl Jewels.

Two Cool—The second version uses a different color combination beginning with a Marina Mist card base. I also made the larger flowers and tiny dots Peekaboo Peach this time.
