June Stamp Club Elements of Style Card

My monthly Stamp Club will be meeting next Friday night and I can't wait to share some fun new products and techniques with them!  This is one of the cards we'll be creating…

We'll be bidding a Fond Farewell to Pale Plum, Creamy Caramel and Mellow Moss retiring colors, while trying out the new Elements of Style set and Presto Patterns Designer Series Paper.

Presto Patterns 117175L Presto Patterns Paper

Well, I may be sad about the Bride and Bridesmaid paper retiring soon, but the new Presto Patterns paper more than makes up for any loss!  They work in the same way, with a much better variety of backgrounds.

Presto Patterns papers are all white, with white glossy patterns that resist ink.  The six styles shown here are in gray so you can see the designs that come in each package (two sheets of each).  The designs are revealed when you apply ink with a sponge, brayer or stamps!

Presto How-Tos

For these two cards, I used two different patterns, and you can see that
it really changes the look.  The one on the right reminds me of looking through a
chain-link fence.  Both are pretty!

First, I added color to the Presto Patterns paper by sponging on Pale Plum and Creamy Caramel Classic Ink. Then, I sponged on Elegant Eggplant along the edges for a little more depth.

Next, I stamped the Floral image from the Elements of Style set with Basic Black.  To bring out the shapes of the flowers, I used Pale Plum and Blush Blossom markers to color them in.  I liked how these lighter colors softly defined the shapes without making them stand out too much.  I used the Eggplant marker for some shading and for coloring the flower centers, and the leaves were shaded with the Moss marker.

On a side note: Did you know that although Blush Blossom is officially retiring, the
marker in this color will still be available in case you need to add
some light skin tones to Santa,
All
In The Family
, or other stamped characters?  Yay!

Other Card Details: The Pale Plum card front is stamped in Pale Plum ink with the vine image from the Elements of Style stamp set.  Sentiments are from either the Elements of Style set or the Watercolor Trio set.  The hummingbird is stamped in Eggplant, then cut out and popped up with Dimensionals.  Wrapped up with retiring Mellow Moss Tafetta Ribbon.
