Just Bee-cause Cards

Hi Stamping Friends,

Bzzzzzzz!  Today's projects feature bees from two different stamp sets!  I've noticed that August typically means a lot more bees buzzing around my flowers.  I'm not a huge fan of the real things, but the stamped variety sure helps create some bee-autiful cards!

"Last Thursdays" Class Date Change—Rescheduled to Wednesday, August 29, 2018, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm, due to a special family event happening on Thursday.  Also, I'm having a Bring-a-Friend Half Price Special for this event!  Register with a friend that is NEW to Too Cool Stamping and you'll both be able to attend for HALF PRICE!  You'll pay only $8 per person or receive the class for FREE with an order placed that night!  I'll be posting photos of the class projects soon, but don't wait!  Sign up to reserve a spot for you and your friend today!

Peggy's You're Inspiring Bee Thankful Card

Peggy Tassler created this sweet card for our team swap this week and I love it!  Our challenge was to do a card with embossing and she opted for both heat and texture embossing.  Here's how it's made…

Background Basics—Peggy started by texture embossing the 4" x 5-1/4" Basic Black background with the Simple Stripes embossing folder and adhering it to a Crushed Curry Card base.

Cool Partial Embossing—My favorite part of this card is the super-cool partial embossing she did on the stamped layer!  She ran a 3" x 4-1/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock diagonally through the Big Shot with the Hexagons Dynamic Texture Impressions Folder, stopping just short of the top right corner.  She left that part non-textured so she could stamp the bee image there!  Too Cool!

Beautiful Bee—Peggy stamped the bee image from the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set in VersaMark onto the top corner, then embossed it with Black embossing powder and a Heat Tool until smooth and glossy.  She colored in the bee with a Crushed Curry Stampin' Write Marker.  This layer was mounted onto a 3-1/8" x 4-3/8" piece of Crushed Curry cardstock and popped up with Dimensionals.

Sweet Sentiment—She stamped a greeting from the You're Inspiring stamp set in Memento Black Ink onto a 2-1/8" x 1/2" strip of Whisper White and popped that up, too.  She finished up the card with a few random Rhinestone Jewels.

Bee Thankful Card

Awww…just look at the adorable bee on this cute thank you card!

Background Basics—A 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Wood Textures Designer Series Paper was mounted onto the front of a Merry Merlot card base to create the background.
Thanks Layer—The Bee Thankful image was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a 5" x 2-3/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock, then colored with Stampin' Blends.  The Crumb Cake Blends were used for the sentiment, the Old Olive Blends for the leaves, the Cherry Cobbler Blends for the flower and the Daffodil Delight Blends for the bee. It's mounted onto a 5-1/4" x 3" piece of Basic Black, then popped up with Dimensionals. The card is finished with a Whisper White Baker's Twine bow, attached with a Glue Dot.
