Kathe’s Burlap & Blooms Inspired Wreath

Hi Stamping Friends!

Last week at my Anything Goes Open Stamp Night, my team member Kathe Madsen shared a beautiful wreath that she created and I just have to share it with you!

Kathe was inspired to create this wreath by the Burlaps & Blooms Wreath Kit in the catalog.  She loved the flowers on the Kit's wreath, but wanted something a little more substantial.  So she purchased a twig wreath base from her local craft store and added her own gorgeous blooms!

Spiral Rosettes—Kathe used the Spiral Flower Bigz Die to create pretty rosettes that she tucked in between the larger flowers.  She even took the time to sponge the edges of the petals to add depth.  These two roses look like they are Crisp Cantaloupe and Coastal Cabana. Find tips on creating your Spiral Flowers on my Spiral Flower Chocolate Holder post.

Fringe Flowers—She created some fun fringe flowers with some of the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper from Sale-A-Bration.  These are fun to make!  Fold over a long strip of paper, snip along the fold with the Fringe Scissors, then roll them up!  You can get a better idea of what I mean by checking out the pictorial at my Mini Burlap & Blooms Wreath Card post.

Large Scallop Flowers—The larger flowers are made with several popped up layers of scallop circle shapes, snipped between every other scallop to create the petals. The shapes are not from Stampin' Up! dies.  She made this one with So Saffron and Whisper White card stock with a button in the center.

Here's another large bloom in Crisp Cantaloupe with an In Color Boutique Detail in the center.  And, a trio of more mini-rosettes.

Leaves—She die-cut each of the leaves with the Autumn Accents Bigz Die, then ran them through the Big Shot with the Arrows Texture Impressions Folder for some vein-like texture.  Nice detail!

Circle Petal Flower—The pretty Pool Party flower also used one of the techniques from the Burlap & Blooms Wreath.  She punched several circles, slit them to the center, then adhered them into a curved petal shape.  Learn more on this technique on my Mini Burlap & Blooms Wreath Card page

I'm so impressed by all the time and detail that Kathe put into her awesome blooming wreath!  It will look amazing hanging on her front door!  What a beautiful way to welcome guests this Spring!

Thanks so much for sharing your wreath, Kathe!  It's absolutely stunning!
