Hi Stamping Friends!
Today I'm continuing to share holiday cards created by my Too Cool Demo Team for a recent swap. Kathe's lovely Ornamental Pine card is the spotlight for today.
"Last Thursdays" Card Class—Don't forget that next Thursday, October 30 is my monthly 4 for $10 card class! Class is at 6:30pm and beginner's are welcome!
I was hoping to have the finished cards to show you by now, but 'life" keeps getting in the way this week. I do know that I've decided to do the Bright & Beautiful card that I shared with you a couple days ago by Janet Shinn. Other featured stamp sets will be Festival of Trees, Ornamental Pine and Lovely As A Tree. Look for details coming soon!
I love the traditional colors and classic design of Kathe Madsen's Ornamental Pine card! So pretty!
Background Basics—Kathe started by embossing the Naturals White card base with the new Filigree Frame embossing folder for a delicate, raised background. She said she chose that card stock over the Whisper White because it is a tad heavier and is a bit sturdier after embossing. It also has tiny flecks of color that add to the richness of the card.
Pretty Pines—She die-cut a Whisper White layer with the Ovals Collection Framelits for a shaped focal point. The pretty pine needles are stamped in Garden Green at the top.
Gold Pine Cones—The pine cones were stamped in VersaMark onto Whisper White, then embossed with Gold Embossing Powder. She hand-cut the cones with the super-sharp Paper Snips and popped them up with Dimensionals for an elegant, eye-catching accent!
The Real Red Satin Bow is adds a lovely pop of color to match the Real Red Ovals Collection Framelit die-cut frame layer. The whole focal point is also popped up with Dimensionals.
Sweet Sentiment—Kathe finished the card with a Wondrous Wreath greeting stamped in Real Red ink. Nicely done, Kathe!
Haha…I just realized that Kathe's card used the Ornamental Pine set for the focal point and the Wondrous Wreath set for the greeting, and that's the exact opposite of Peggy's card yesterday. Peggy used the Wondrous Wreath for the main focus and the Ornamental Pine for the sentiment. Interchangeable!
