Sweet Soireé Celebrate You Cards

The Sweet Soireé Specialty Designer Series Paper makes me oooooh & aaaaah every time I see it! The beautiful floral patterns are accented with gorgeous silver foil outlines and patterns on one side and lovely full-color designs on the other side.

This photo doesn't do justice to the shiny foil patterns, but at least you can see the pretty color combination of Berry Burst, Calypso Coral, Flirty Flamingo, Marina Mist, Old Olive, Powder Pink, Rich Razzleberry and Daffodil Delight. I LOVE this paper!

Background Basics—I started by adhering a 5-1/4" x 2-1/2" piece of the Berry Burst floral pattern of the Sweet Soireé DSP on the top of a 5-1/4" x 4" foundation of Whisper White cardstock. I added a 5-1/4" x 1-1/2" strip of the Old Olive/Silver striped pattern on the bottom. Next, I adhered a 6" x 1-1/2" strip of Whisper White at a diagonal across the front of the layer, trimming the excess off the sides with my super-sharp Paper Snips.

Pretty Ribbon—I wrapped the Berry Burst Metallic Edge Satin Ribbon around the layers, tying it into a double-knot and trimming into a faux-bow. I love how the silver threads on the edge of the ribbon picks up the shine of the silver foil on the DSP! I mounted the entire background layer onto a Marina Mist card base.

Celebrate Sentiment—There's no stamping on this card! Instead I used the new Celebrate You Thinlits to create the sentiment. I die-cut the word from Silver Foil, using the Precision Base Plate to get a nice, crisp cut, easy release of the die-cut and no marring of the foil. See my video about this Precision Base Plate & Foil tip. I adhered the die-cut with Multipurpose Glue, but the Fine Tip Glue Pen works well, too!

Sensational Silver—Check out the shine on that paper! I wrapped the layer with the Whisper White Metallic Edge Ribbon this time. If you wanted a little more contrast for that accent, you can add color to the ribbon with a Stampin' Blends Marker!
