Celebrate Amazing You In Color Card

What a super-cute card that has only a few layers and no fancy die-cutting!  This card by Kristi Johnson is simple & sweet, and so fun to create! 

 

Stamped Border—Kristi stamped the floral image from Amazing You along the left and bottom edges of a 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" layer of Whisper White cardstock in Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach and Lemon Lime Twist inks. 

 

Sweet Sentiment—Kristi stamped the sentiment using three words from Amazing You: "celebrate" in Peekaboo Peach, "amazing" in Calypso Coral and "you" in Lemon Lime Twist.  I LOVE what she did next!  After stamping the words, she quickly sprinkled on Clear Embossing Powder and heat embossed the words to make them raised and shiny!  It's an awesome detail that really makes the card. 

 

TIP: I recommend stamping the sentiment before the border flowers, OR make sure that the flowers are completely dry and use an Embossing Buddy to get rid of any moisture.  Otherwise, the embossing powder may stick where you don't want it to.

 

Stamparatus TIP: Even better…this is a perfect example of a project that would be much easier to accomplish with the Stamparatus stamp positioning tool!  You can get your sentiment words all lined up on the Stamparatus using both of the panels for two words, as well as the backside of one of the panels for the third word.  Not only does it allow you to perfectly align the words, you can stamp the words first in the colored ink, then go back and use VersaMark clear ink directly over the top.  The Stamparatus allows you to perfectly position the VersaMark over the original stamped image, so it's easy to add the embossing ink!  How cool!

 

Finishing Touches—Kristi mounted the stamped layer onto a 3-7/8" x 5" layer of Flirty Flamingo, then mounted both onto a Peekaboo Peach card base.  She also added a couple Brights Enamel Shapes for more texture & shine!  Very nice!

Happiest Birthday Amazing You Card

Kristi Johnson brought this pretty card to our team's shoebox swap last weekend and it won our contest for Best Swap Card!  I love that it has lots of layers, yet uses minimal supplies, so it's fun & easy to reproduce!

Background Basics—The 4" x 5-1/4" Berry Burst background is randomly stamped around the edges with the floral Amazing You image in Berry Burst.  The layer is mounted onto a Basic Black card base.

 

Floral Focal Point—Next, we stamped the 3" x 4" Whisper White layer randomly with the same floral image, again in Berry Burst ink.  This one's layered onto a 3-1/4" x 4-1/4" mat of Basic Black.  We tied some matching Berry Burst Metallic-Edge Ribbon around the layer before adhering it to the card front.  

Sweet Sentiment—Lastly, we stamped a sentiment from the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set in Berry Burst onto a 2-1/2" x 1-3/4" Whisper White piece that's matted onto a 2-3/4" x 2" layer of Berry Burst and a 3" x 2-1/4" layer of Basic Black.  It's adhered with SNAIL onto the card front, then adorned with a few floating Rhinestone Jewels.  So cute!
