Hi Stamping Friends!
Today is the final day to register for the November Stamp-of-the-Month class featuring Festival of Trees. The class kit includes the stamp set and the coordinating Tree Punch, plus all the supplies you need to create 6 fabulously festive projects (including a full-size Hershey Bar!).  Click the link above to see full details!
Today, I'm sharing details another one of the projects we'll be creating in this class…a fun, gate-fold card!

These tree shapes are so much fun to layer into little multi-patterned, mini forests!  On this gate-fold card, I've stamped one tree with the Festival of Trees stamp set and punched one tree from the All Is Calm Designer Series Paper.  No matter how you plant them, they always look fantastic!

Gate-Fold Basics—Every now and again, I like to mix things up with a non-traditional fold and the gate-fold style is a fun one to try.  It's so easy to make, especially with the Simply Scored scoring platform.  I simply scored my 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" piece of Pool Party card stock along the 8-1/2" side at the 2-1/8" and 6-3/8".
TIP: Before creasing the score lines with the Bone Folder, I match up my two card ends so that they are flush—no overlaps and no gaps!  Once those are lined up, then I use my Bone Folder to burnish down the crease.
I decorated my front panels with 2" x 5-1/4" pieces of All Is Calm DSP.  I adhered the paper at the edges of the gates, leaving a 1/8" "frame" around the outer edges of the card front.

Label Frame—I love creating an overlapped focal point on my gate-fold cards!  For this one, I used the Label Collection Framelits to die-cut a Basic Gray foundation.  It's attached with Dimensionals on the left panel only.  Be careful to keep the Dimensionals to the left of center, or they will stick to the other side!
Oval Background—The Whisper White background was die-cut with the Ovals Collection Framelits, then stamped with the dot image from Festival of Trees in Pool Party.  Those "dots" are meant to be stamped over the tree to represent ornaments, but they sure make a nice snowy background, don't they?
I used the All Is Calm Washi Tape to create a simple landscape for my trees.
Terrific Trees—The Pear Pizzazz tree is punched from All Is Calm patterned paper and is adhered with SNAIL.  The Lost Lagoon tree is stamped with the Festival of Trees stamps, punched with the Tree Punch, and attached with Dimensionals.  A simple 1/8" Silver Ribbon bow provides a shiny accent.

Sweet Sentiment—I finished up the card by stamping a Good Greetings sentiment in Lost Lagoon onto Whisper White, then punching it with the Modern Label Punch.  It's attached to the right side of the card front to overlap in the opposite direction!  Love that!
Last Chance To Get "Good Greetings"—Earn a FREE Good Greetings stamp set when you have a $300 workshop or individual customer order.  TIP: Gather up some orders from your friends and combine them to reach the magic number for this FREE set! Hurry!  Offer ends October 31, 2014!

The Insides—I finished the inside of the card with another stamped image in Lost Lagoon and another line of gray striped washi tape.  Cute!

Just to mix it up, I tried the gate-fold on it's side.  I don't like the opening as well this way, but I do like the look of the focal point on the horizontal.  I think it would look best on a traditional fold card.
