***Name That Retired Stamp Contest & UPDATE***
Yesterday, I introduced my week-long contest to get ready for the unveiling of the Retired Stamps & Accessories Lists on April 21. Simply let me know which 10 stamp sets you think will be on the list and if you get the most correct, you could win one of my retired stamp sets! Complete details on my Name That Retired Stamp Set Contest Page.
UPDATE: I mentioned that typically the stamp sets are guaranteed to be available throughout the entire Retired List Promotion, but we just found out today that BOTH stamps and accessories will be available while supplies last only! That means once the list is out, you'll need to order quickly to get your favorites before they get snatched up!

Like my Peaceful Petals Ghirardelli Treat Holder, the final project in my April Peaceful Petals Class-To-Go Kit uses the Stampin' Chalk Marker to do some opaque highlighting on colored card stock. I just adore the look of this simple technique! You'll get a Chalk Marker in the kit, so you'll be able to recreate the look easily. If you don't get the kit and don't have the marker, I created an alternative without it that's also pretty!
Background Basics—The Peaceful Petals set has some fantastic images for making beautiful patterned backgrounds. I choose the leaves in Pear Pizzazz on my 3-7/8 x 5-1/8" Whisper White layer. It's matted onto a 4" x 5-1/4" Basic Black card stock layer.
Foil & Washi—I added a 3-7/8" x 3/4" strip of Gold Fancy Foil Vellum to the bottom and used a strip of Retro Fresh Washi Tape to attach it. It's all adhered to a Coastal Cabana card base.
Chalked Blooms—The focal point is a 2" x 4-1/2" piece of Coastal Cabana that's been punched with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch. I stamped the blooming branch in StazOn Black for a permanent image. I used a Pear Pizzazz Marker to color in the leaves and stem.
I used the Stampin' Chalk Marker to lightly shade in the petals. The white color is just transparent enough to let some of the petal veins show through, but opaque enough to pop on the colored background. I added some of the tiny Pearl Jewels to the centers—the perfect finishing touch! Too Cool!
Sweet Sentiment—The Peaceful Petals sentiment was stamped in Coastal Cabana, then punched with the Large Oval Punch and popped up with Dimensionals.
Sentiment Alternative—On my second version, I tilted the focal point leaving me room to add my sentiment to the background layer.
Colored Blooms—If you don't have the Chalk Marker, try using the regular Markers, or a Blender Pen and inks, to color in the flowers. It still gives a lovely shaded effect to contrast the Pearl Jewel centers.
More Gold Accents—The top of the tag is decorated with a Gold Baker's Twine bow that's tied separately, then attached with a Glue Dot. It wasn't laying right when I tied it around the hanging hole, but this way look great!
I also added a 1/4" strip of Gold Foil to trim the bottom of the tag that you can see in the other photos.
Golden Vellum Envelope—I thought I'd dress up this card with an elegant Gold Fancy Foil Vellum envelope! I started with an 8"x 8" piece and used the measurements on the front of the Envelope Punch Board to punch and score it with ease!
Here is the card all tied up with Gold Baker's Twine—what a pretty package! I love that you get a hint of what's inside peeking through the translucent vellum. The class kit will include one of these envelopes, all pre-cut and scored from the Vellum that comes in your kit.
Silver Kit Option: If you select the silver version of the kit, you'll get all the silver accents and envelope for this card style, as well.
