LAST DAY For Retiring Items, Plus Bird Ballad Peek

I participated in an NEW Catalog pre-order card swap and receive lots of samples using the adorable Bird Ballad suite!  This card was created by Laura Milligan and I love the way the pretty papers and sweet bird image comes together so beautifully!  

Background Basics—Laura began by adding a couple of panels of Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper to a Thick Whisper White card base.  The first polka dot layer measures 5-1/2" x 1-1/2" and the second floral layer measures 4" x 2-3/4".

Sweet Sentiment—Laura stamped the greeting in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a 2-3/4" x 1/2" strip of Whisper White that was fishtail cut on one end.  She sandwiched the strip between the two layers of the focal point.

Focal Point—Laura stamped the Free As A Bird songbird image in Memento Black ink onto a Whisper White Stitched Shapes square die-cut. She colored in the bird with Petal Pink and Pool Party Stampin' Blends Markers, then layered it onto a Coastal Cabana Layering Squares scallop square die-cut and popped up with Dimensionals.

Finishing Touches—Laura finished the card by tying the NEW 5/8" Organdy Striped Ribbon into a knot and attaching it next to the focal point with a Glue Dot.  This gorgeous ribbon was so popular during the demonstrator pre-order that it's already on backorder and should be back in stock around June 24.

Monika's Bird Ballad Thank You Swap Card

The second card today was created by Monika Davis and it uses several of the same elements as Laura's card. 

Background Basics—Like the first card, this one begins with a Thick Whisper White card base and floral Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper. The four strips of DSP each measure 1" x 3". What a fantastic way to use small strips of paper to create a larger, eye-catching foundation!  It's also a fantastic way to stretch the use of your 6×6" samples if you participate in my Too Cool 2019 Paper Share!   

Finishing Touches—Monika wrapped some Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon around the card front and tied it into a knot for some soft, subtle texture.

Focal Point—Monika also stamped the individual bird from Free As A Bird in Memento Black, this time on a Whisper White Stitched Nested die-cut.  These cool new shaped dies with faux stitching can be bundle with the Free As A Bird stamp set to save 10%!  Monika colored her bird with Petal Pink and Pool Party Stampin' Blends Markers, like Laura did on her card, then she add a little Light Crumb Cake under the feet.  She finished by stamping the Free As A Bird sentiment in Memento Black and popping up the focal point with Dimensionals.
