Magical Meadow Colder Weather Bridge Cards
I received a swap card created by Cathy Miller and I loved it so much that I CASEd her card almost in its entirety. It’s a fun, bridge-style card and it works so beautifully with the sprigs & twigs in the Magical Meadow Bundle.
Background Basics
The card begins with a 4-1/4″ x 7-1/4″ piece of Lost Lagoon, scored at the 5-1/2″ mark. I also cut a 4-1/4″ x 1-3/4″ piece of Lost Lagoon for the bottom of the card front and a 2-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ piece of Lost Lagoon for the focal point foundation bridge.
I adhered a 4″ x 1-1/2″ piece of Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper to the top flap of the card front and added a coordinating Winter Meadow DSP piece on the bottom piece.
Sweet Sentiment
I positioned the a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White on the inside of the card without adhering, then positioned the bottom card front piece flush with the bottom of the card, so I could determine where to stamp the sentiment. It’s a Magical Meadow greeting stamped in Blueberry Bushel. I don’t like to adhere it first, just in case I might not stamp it correctly! Once it’s stamped, I can adhere it into place.
Focal Point Bridge
I stamped the Magical Meadow leafy sprig in stamped-off Garden Green ink onto a 2″ x 4″ piece of Basic White. Next, I die-cut a Blueberry Bushel twig and a Lost Lagoon twig using the Magical Meadow Dies. I adhered it over the stamped leaves with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
I layered that onto a 2-1/8″ x 4-1/8″ piece of Blueberry Bushel cardstock, then mounted it onto the 2-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ Lost Lagoon layer. I tied some White Iridescent Ribbon around the layers popping it up with Dimensionals onto the card front.
To create that bridge, just add Dimensionals to the top and bottom back of the focal point, line up that bottom piece with the bottom of the card, then mount the bridge to connect the bottom with the top flap of the card.
Finishing Touches
I finished by adding a few Iridescent Pearl Jewels around the focal point. So pretty!
Two Cool
The second version starts with Night of Navy card base pieces and the sentiment stamped in Garden Green ink.
Focal Point
I stamped the background sprig with stamped-off Lost Lagoon ink, then layered die-cut twigs in Blueberry Bushel and Garden Green. It’s mounted onto Lost Lagoon and Night of Navy mats, then tied with the Silver & White Sheer Ribbon (which is gorgeous!). I finished with a few perfectly matching Rhinestone Jewels.
