Flourishing Phrases With Pearls Cards

Have you noticed how intricate & awesome the thinlits dies are getting these days? The Annual Catalog is filled with tools to create all kinds of gorgeous, delicate die-cuts. One of my favorites is the Flourishing Phrases Bundle! If you're into elegant cards, this bundle is definitely for you.

I love how the flourish in the stamp set so beautifully coordinates with all the dies in the Flourish Thinlits set. Plus, the sentiments are absolutely lovely, too! (click to enlarge image)

Background Basics—I used the Flourishing Phrases flourish image to cover the entire Whisper White card front with a pretty Pool Party pattern. Next, I cut a 2-3/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Pool Party card stock to use as the backdrop to the die-cut and mounted it onto a 2-7/8" x 5-1/2" piece of Basic Black.

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped one of the Flourishing Phrases greetings in Archival Black Ink at the bottom of the panel.

Flourishing Blooms & Pearls—I used the Flourishing Thinlits die to create the Basic Black flourish, which I adhered to the panel with the help of the Fine-Tip Glue Pen. I added the medium size Pearl Jewels to each of the die-cut's berries. I love this look!

Intricate Die-cut TIPS: If you love intricate dies like this, I highly recommend getting three cool tools that will give you the best results and make your die-cutting experience so much easier! The Precision Base Plate is designed to work with thinlits to help make crisp, clean cuts! The Big Shot Platform, which comes with Big Shot as of June 2016, works with the Precision Base Plate to provide just the right pressure to get a clean cut in just 2 passes. And, the Big Shot Die Brush will help you get rid of those little pieces that get stuck in the die and the die-cut. Use all three and it will eliminate the need for shims, multiple passes and potential frustration!

Finishing Details—I wrapped some Pool Party Stitched Satin Ribbon around the panel, tied it into a double-knot and trimmed it to look like a bow. This layer is popped up with Dimensionals onto the card front.

Two Cool—I tried the opposite color combination for my second card…Pool Party die-cut on a Basic Black background.

Pretty Pearls—I used the large Pearl Jewels on this one, and they are exactly the same size as the berries…perfect!

Sweet Sentiment—Since the background was black, I stamped the Flourishing Phrases sentiment in VersaMark and heat embossed it with White Embossing Powder. TIP: Don't forget to use the Embossing Buddy before stamping to eliminate any static & fingerprints so the powder doesn't stick where it shouldn't.

Complete Supplies List—"Clear" means a rubber stamp on a clear block. "Photopolymer" is see-thru.
