I'm trying to get lots of projects made with the Bloomin' Marvelous Sale-A-Bration set because I love, Love, LOVE it! It's gonna be gone WAY too soon for me! I swear they do this to me every.single.year. I'm still not over Happy Moments from 2010, Bliss from 2011, and Fresh Vintage from 2012! Those dang limited-time-only sets!
But, I digress…
The flowers and leaves from Bloomin' Marvelous are perfect for creating a randomly stamped background in all kinds of colors! I couldn't wait to try this Baja Breeze and Old Olive combination for one of my "Last Thursdays" cards this month!
I started by embossing the bottom 3/4" of the card front with the Vine Street Texture Impressions Folder, another FREE Sale-A-Bration selection with your $50 order placed before March 22, 2013.
My 4-1/4" x 1-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock was first stamped three times with the Baja Breeze flower, then filled in with the Old Olive leaves. I trimmed each edge with a decorative border die-cut with the Finishing Touches Edgelits.
My Whisper White banner is the same size as the stamped piece, 4-1/4" x 1-1/4". I snipped the fishtail end, but you could use a corner of the 1-1/4" Square Punch to make it more symmetrical.
The hand-cut hummingbird is popped up with Dimensionals. The Paper Snips are absolutely AWESOME for detailed cutting like this! They are a must-have for any crafter!
I changed the orientation of the embossing folder, but still used it on only part of the front.
Big Shot Embossing TIP: If the embossing folder is too wide to go through the Big Shot unless you close the card around the folder, then I recommend opening the tabs on your Multipurpose Platform (no tabs used). Closing the card around the folder creates another layer, which may be too much pressure, and the deep embossing may cut through your card stock. Eliminating a tab layer will ease up the pressure for a lighter, better impression.
