February's "Last Thursdays" Card Class

Thursday, February 23, 2017, 6:30pm. RSVP by Wednesday, February 22, at 8pm.

Create 4 cards using Too Cool techniques, plus envelopes. This month, we'll be featuring the three brand new Sale-a-Bration items that are available on February 21 to earn! This class is perfect for any level stamper, but it's designed for new stampers to get a feel for the basics and try out some simple, but cool, techniques!

Glimmer Balloon Adventures Birthday Card—Try out 3 AMAZING new colors of Glimmer Paper!
Blooms & Bliss Reverse Words Card—We'll color this new stamp with markers for a two-color look!

Glimmer Balloon Adventure Birthday Cards—The new Sale-a-Bration Glimmer Paper pack features 12 sheets of 6×6" glimmer paper, 4 each of Sweet Sugarplum, Mint Macaron and Bermuda Bay colors! It's is a MUST-HAVE and it's only available when you place a $50 order from February 21 – March 31, 2017, during Sale-a-Bration! Get your wish list ready to order on Tuesday!

Background Basics—This card begins with a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Sweet Sugarplum card stock mounted onto a Whisper White card base.

Balloon Positioning—I punched out three Whisper White balloons with the Balloon Bouquet Punch and positioned them onto a 4-3/4" x 3-1/2" piece of Whisper White card stock, leaving room for the sentiment. I used the two balloon string images from Balloon Adventures in Sahara Sand ink to stamp the strings at different heights based on where I positioned the balloons. I adhered the Whisper White balloon shapes in place as a foundation for each glimmer balloon. This white layer not only helps cover up the balloon strings behind the balloons, but it also allows one of the balloons to "break out" of the mat border.

Sparkly Balloons—I die cut the glimmer balloons with the Balloon Pop-Up Thinlit dies, creating one in each color. They are popped up with Dimensionals that I trimmed down into small pieces. TIP: This is a great time to use the outer edge of the Dimensional sheet!

Finishing Touches—I added some Rhinestone Jewels floating around the balloons to look like sparkling confetti!

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the sentiment from Balloon Adventures in the corner with Sweet Sugarplum ink.

Two Cool—I created a second version with a Bermuda Bay background mat going in a vertical direction.

Sweet Sentiment—This time, the balloons needed to go above the sentiment and I didn't want the strings to cover up the sentiment, so I raised it up onto a 2-3/4" x 1-1/8" piece of Whisper White, fishtailed on one side. I also used more Rhinestones to fill up the blank spaces. Looks like a fun celebration!
