Hi Stamping Friends!

Today, we're taking a closer look at another card from my "Last Thursdays" monthly card class coming up next week on August 27!  This is my most popular local class…I'd love to see you there!

Circle of spring - two cool

Circle of Spring Wreath Cards

No, it's not spring, but these whimsically-drawn wreath images look fantastic for any season!  I paired them up with two of the current In Colors for a cheerful card that we'll be creating at my August "Last Thursdays" class.

Circle of spring - watermelon

CASEd from Kathie Durgan at Stampin' With Kathie.

Background Basics—I embossed a 4" x 5-1/4" layer of Whisper White card stock with the Stylish Stripes Texture Impressions Folder first to create a foundation for the other layers.  Then I wrapped some Watermelon Wonder Dotted Lace Trim around the layer and adhered the edges on the backside with SNAIL.  I added a final 4" x 1-3/4" layer of Watermelon Wonder card stock that I embossed with the Decorative Dots folder.  All of the layers are mounted on a Watermelon Wonder card base.

Circle of spring - watermelon2

Floral Wreath—I stamped the Circle of Spring wreath image in Archival Black Ink, then colored it in with Stampin' Write Markers.  I used Watermelon Wonder, Mint Macaron & Bermuda Bay for the flowers and Cucumber Crush & Delightful Dijon for the leaves.

Die-Cut Wreath—Remember the Wonderful Wreath Framelits that were introduced in last year's Holiday Catalog?  This set was designed to work with that same set of dies!  I love when tools can do double-duty!

TIP: The Circle of Spring photopolymer stamps have little arrows to indicate the top of the wreath.  The Wonderful Wreath Framelits have that same arrow on both the outside and inside wreath dies to help with positioning!

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Circle of Spring greeting onto scrap Whisper White and punched it out with the 2" Circle punch.  To assemble the layers, add some Dimensionals on the back of the wreath around the center window.  Then turn it over, position the wreath window over the greeting and adhere.  Add Dimensionals over the rest of the wreath to finish attaching it to the card front.

Finishing Touches—I added Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the flowers with a 2-Way Glue Pen for some sparkly accents.  The bow image is stamped in Archival Black onto Watermelon Wonder card stock, then die-cut with the Wonderful Wreath Framelits.  I adhered that with SNAIL and added a large Rhinestone Jewel to the center.

Circle of spring - mint

Two Cool—My second version is in a cooler color combination featuring Mint Macaron for the card base and Dotted Lace Trim.  I tried the Large Polka Dot embossing folder this time for the background.

Cool Wreath Colors—This wreath was colored with Mint Macaron, Wisteria Wonder and Bermuda Bay on the flowers and Cucumber Crush and Old Olive for the leaves.

Complete Supplies List—"Clear" means a rubber stamp on a clear block. "Photopolymer" is see-thru.

I'd Love To Hear From You!  Which color combination is cooler—Watermelon Wonder or Mint Macaron? Leave me a comment at the bottom of the page!

  1. Hello! These are lovely, thanks for sharing! If I absolutely HAD TO choose a preferred color combo, this time I would go with Mint Macaroon. Probably b/c I know that color combo would please most of the people I would send this card to.
