Last Thursdays Class: Bye Bye Wood Words

Today's projects are a little bit country, a little bit patriotic and a whole lot of down-home goodness! They feature 4 soon-to-retire products including the Wood Words stamp set, the pretty Night of Navy Gingham Ribbon, the versatile Wood Textures Designer Series Paper and the Hexagons embossing folder.  They'll all be gone after June 3, 2019. Which one of these items will you miss the most?  

Background Basics—I embossed a 4-1/4" x 2-1/2" piece of Crumb Cake cardstock with the Hexagons 3D embossing folder and adhered it to a Crumb Cake card base with a combination of Tear & Tape and SNAIL adhesives for a secure hold.

Wood Stamping—I stamped the Wood Words floral image in Night of Navy twice onto the middle of a 3" x 4-1/4" piece of Wood Textures DSP.  I love this white-washed, distressed wood background for a real country feel!  After mounting it onto a 3-1/8" x 4-3/8" piece of Night of Navy cardstock, I tied some Night of Navy Gingham Ribbon around the layers into a double-knot.  It's popped up onto the card front with Dimensionals.

Farmside Focal Point—I die-cut a Whisper White circle from Whisper White and popped it up overlapping the ribbon.  Next, I stamped the Wood Words sentiment in VersaMark ink onto a 2-1/2" x 1/2" strip of Night of Navy and embossed it with Whisper White embossing powder.  I fishtail cut one end and attached it to the circle with SNAIL.  Finally, I stamped the Wood Words rooster in Cherry Cobbler ink onto Whisper White cardstock and die-cut it with the coordinating Wood Crate Framelits.  It's added with SNAIL, too.    

Two Cool—My second card is very similar with just a few variation on the elements.  The background begins with a 2-1/2" x 5-1/2" piece of the Hexagon embossed Crumb Cake on the card base this time.  

Focal Point—Instead of a circle, I added a 3" x 1-1/4" piece of Sahara Sand across the stamped wood texture.  I extended the Night of Navy sentiment strip to measure 3" x 5/8". I stamped the Wood Words heart and die-cut it for the pop of color, then I finished by adding a Gingham Ribbon bow with a Glue Dot.
