Hi Stamping Friends!

Local New Stampers & Stamp Enthusiasts!  It's the final day to RSVP for January's "Last Thursdays" card class coming up tomorrow, January 26!  I have all the details below, along with details on my favorite card from the class!

Today, I'm sharing another card from that class featuring the awesome NEW Watercolor Pencils, which are so amazing that they are temporarily sold out…

Watercolor Pencils Availability: Stampin' Up! Watercolor Pencils are in such demand that they are now on backorder.  Currently, you can still place an order for the pencils (#141709) and they will go into backorder, allowing you to get them shipped to you as soon as they become available again around February 13.  Beginning Thursday, January 26 at noon (MT), they will not be orderable until after they have sufficient inventory in place.

Dragonfly Dreams Watercolor Wash Cards

Watercolor Pencils are superb for coming in stamped images, but they are also great for making a colorful, watercolor wash background!  I love how these white dragonflies pop against the bold, bright colors!  And, it's SO EASY!

Watercolor Wash Background—I simply colored with dry Watercolor Pencils onto a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Watercolor Paper in this order: Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry.  Then, I brushed my Aqua Painter over the top to dissolve and blend the colors and let it dry.  So simple, so pretty!

Gold Flecks—I added splatters from my Gold Wink of Stella all over the entire background.  I found that you can either tap the brush on your other hand to force the ink from the brush, or flick the bristles with a paper clip.  TIP: You'll definitely want to practice the splattering on scrap paper until you get a handle on how much you're putting down and where the flecks are landing!

I layered the Watercolor Paper onto a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Rich Razzleberry and mounted it onto a Whisper White card base.

Dreamy Dragonflies—I die cut the Whisper White dragonflies with the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits, then popped them up with slivers of Dimensionals.  The Foam Adhesive Strips work well for these tiny areas, too!  I topped each insect with a Pearl Jewel.

You can see the pretty gold flecks a little better on this photo!

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped a Dragonfly Dreams greeting in Memento Black Ink onto a 1/2" strip of Whisper White and fishtailed the end with my super-sharp Paper Snips.  It's popped up with Dimensionals.

Bundle It & Save—Purchase the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set and Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits together in a Bundle to save 10% off the cost of purchasing them separately!

Two Cool—On the second card, I created a wash with the cooler colors: Basic Gray, Pacific Point, Bermuda Bay and Old Olive.  This time, I used the single dragonfly that's the smaller size. He's topped with Rhinestone Jewels.

Sparkly Shimmer—I splattered the Clear Wink of Stella on this card.  The spatters were much more fine with the clear pen, so there is a lovely layer of fine shimmer over the entire background…like fairy dust!

I layered the watercolor paper onto Pacific Point card stock. I also tried a different Dragonfly Dreams sentiment.
