Inspiring Iris Wishing You The Best Cards

Today, I'm LOVING the new Inspiring Iris stamp set! I was making some swap cards over the weekend and created these pretty cards with this amazing set. I loved the sweet & simple result so much, I knew it had to be part of my "Last Thursdays" card class this week!

Background Basics—This card begins by stamping the Inspiring Iris circle border image in Pool Party ink along the front of a Pool Party card base. I added a skinny, 5-1/2" x 1/2" strip of matching Pool Party gingham from the Subtles Designer Series Paper pack right underneath it.

Next, I tied some Whisper White Baker's Twine around the card front into a double-knot. Before stamping the Inspiring Iris sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black directly onto the card base, I adhered a 3" x 3-3/4" piece of Pool Party cardstock that was embossed with the Subtle Embossing Folder.

Two-Step Iris—It was SO FAST to stamp the images for my stack of swaps because Inspiring Iris is a Two-Step stamp set! I stamped the iris outline in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock. Then, I stamped the solid flowers image over the flower outline in Pool Party ink and the solid leaves over the leaves outline in stamped-off Pear Pizzazz ink. The solid image is designed to NOT line up perfectly, so you have lots of room for error and it looks amazing every time!

Finishing Up—The stamped layer was die-cut with the Stitched Shapes dies and popped up with Dimensionals. I finished by adding some "blue" iridescent sequins from the Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequins.

Wow…that card was so quick and it's so pretty! I couldn't wait to try it in different colors!

Two Cool—This time, I traded in Pool Party for a Purple Posy card base. The gingham is in Highland Heather and the flower is in Highland Heather ink, both of which look fantastic with the new Purple Posy!

Everything else is the same, except that I used the white sequins from the Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins pack.

Three Cool—I tried the third card in Petal Pink. I forgot to stamp off on the Pear Pizzazz leaves, so you can see how dark it is at full-strength.
