Last Thursdays: Magnolia Lane DSP Sneak Peek

I've always been a fan of natural, earthy colors, so I adore the NEW Magnolia Lane Designer Series Papers! The pop of Petal Pink adds just the right softness for a truly elegant color combination. I created these two cool cards to show off some of the gorgeous papers in this floral collection.

Background Basics—I began by cutting two coordinating panels of Magnolia Lane DSP: 1-1/4" x 4-3/4" Mossy Meadow leaves and 2-1/4" x 4-3/4" floral.  I adhered the pieces onto a 3-5/8" x 4-7/8" mat in Early Espresso cardstock.  I mounted that onto a Petal Pink card base.

Background Layers—Next, I added a 1/2" x 4-3/4" strip of Copper Foil along the seam of the papers and a 3-1/2" x 1" strip of Mossy Meadow across the bottom to make a foundation for my sentiment.  

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Good Morning Magnolia greeting in Early Espresso onto Whisper White cardstock, then punched it out with the NEW Timeless Label Punch. I added a Good Morning Magnolia flower directly over the top of the words with stamped-off Petal Pink ink. The label is popped up with Dimensionals.  

Finishing Touches—I die-cut two Copper Foil leaves using the Magnolia Memories dies and attached them under the label with Glue Dots.  I was delighted to discover that I did not need a Precision Base Plate to cut these intricate leaves with this new style dies!  The foil released easily from the dies, too!

I finished by coloring some Basic Pearl Jewels with the Bronze Stampin' Blends Marker to make "copper" pearl accents.  Too Cool!

Inside The Card—I stamped a Good Morning Magnolia sentiment in Early Espresso, then added some Petal Pink flowers along the bottom of the 4" x 5-1/4" Whisper White layer to dress up the inside.

Two Cool—My second card has the same basic design featuring two more Magnolia Lane papers.  This time, I layered them onto Basic Black and mounted the layers onto a Mossy Meadow card base. I used Gold Foil for the accent strip and leaves on this one, and the Early Espresso strip across the bottom measures 3-1/2" x 3/4".

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped this Good Morning Magnolia sentiment in Mossy Meadow and added the Petal Pink flower over the top. The accents are gold Metallic Pearls this time. Oooh, pretty!

Inside—I stamped the Good Morning Magnolia phrase in Early Espresso, then stamped that same stamped-off Petal Pink flower over the top.  I love that look!
