Year of Cheer Metallic Snowflake Cards

My favorite holiday cards are ones that have a touch of elegance, so when I saw this card design, created by Lyssa Zwolanek, I knew I had to give it a go!  I CASEd her gold & black card exactly because it was perfection!  And, we'll be making that card at my "Last Thursdays" class tomorrow.  Then, I tried another version in denim & silver.  Both are absolutely fabulous!

Year of Cheer Metallic Snowflakes - gold
Background Basics—The background begins with a 4" x 1-3/4" strip of the gold plaid Year of Cheer Designer Series Specialty Paper.  I adhered it at the bottom of a Basic Black card base.

Shiny Snowflake—The awesome part of this card is the beautifully shiny Winter Wonder embossed snowflake embossed on a 4" x 3-1/2" piece of Gold Foil.  I found that the embossing does tear the foil a little bit.  TIP: Lightly spritz the back of the Gold Foil with water before running it through the Big Shot for less tearing.

Pretty Accents—I added a 3" strip of the Black Shimmer Ribbon along the seam of the papers with a little SNAIL.  Then I attached a 7" strand of gold Sequin Trim just underneath the ribbon with a couple of Glue Dots.  The parts of the trim that peek out from under the sentiment are loose for some free-flowing movement.  Once the sentiment was mounted, I added a couple of Pearl Jewels, too.

Sweet Sentiment—The Merry Little Labels image is stamped in Archival Black ink, which provides superior, ultra-black coverage, onto Whisper White card stock.  It's punched with the Everyday Label Punch, then popped up with Dimensionals.

Bundle It & Save—Purchase the Merry Little Labels stamp set and Everyday Label Punch together in a Bundle to save 10% off the cost of ordering them separately.

Two Cool—I created a second version of Lyssa's card with a cool, blue & silver color combo.  Oooh, I like that look, too!  I used a silver Year of Cheer DSP pattern at the bottom, along with Silver Foil for the embossed snowflake.

Year of Cheer Metallic Snowflakes - silver 4
Sweet Sentiment—This time, I stamped the label in Dapper Denim ink, and layered it over some Pool Party Shimmer Ribbon, Silver Sequin Trim and Rhinestone Jewels.  LOVE it!
