Layering Leaves Wild Wheat Thank You Card
Poor Wild Wheat. I feel like it's getting the least amount of love of all of the new In Colors. Although it may not be the favorite, give it a try as a brighter "neutral" to go with a surprising array of color combinations.
Background Basics—I toned back the Wild Wheat color on these cards and used it as more of an accent color and I think it looks marvelous! My cards use the cool "Double-Time" stamping technique. I tacked a 3-1/4" x 4-1/2" piece of Basic White down to a Thick Basic White card front, then stamped the images across it diagonally. I started with the Layering Leaves solid branch in Lost Lagoon, then added some little twigs in Misty Moonlight. I finished with some Wild Wheat texture dots.
Next, I peeled up that stamped layer and mounted it onto a 3-3/8" x 4-5/8" piece of Wild Wheat and adhered it to the card front. I love the look of the stamped images spilling over onto the card base. Too Cool!
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the Layering Leaves sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink onto the left side of a Pool Party Stylish Shapes large banner die-cut. I trimmed it off on the right side, so it would be flush to the edge of the card, then added a 2" x 1-1/2" piece of Wild Wheat DSP behind it before popping it up with Dimensionals. I finished with a few Wild Wheat In Color Dots.
Wild Wheat Color Combo #2—I stamped the solid branches in Pretty Peacock, added twigs in Berry Burst and texture in Wild Wheat. The sentiment banner is once again in Pool Party with Pretty Peacock ink.
Wild Wheat Color Combo #3—I stamped the solid branches in Old Olive, the twigs in Flirty Flamingo and texture in Wild Wheat. The banner is in Lemon Lime Twist and stamped in Wild Wheat ink.
Wild Wheat Color Combo #4—The solid branches are stamped in Pecan Pie, the little sprigs in Mossy Meadow and the texture in Wild Wheat. The banner is in Soft Sea Foam and stamped with Mossy Meadow ink.
