Lots To Love Valentine's Treat Boxes

It's so much fun to decorate the Lots of Love boxes and best of all, they are very roomy, so they can be used to hold all kinds of items!  Don't let the photo fool you on the size…these boxes measure a spacious 3" x 5" and 5/8" deep.  That's the size of an index card!  You can fit lots of different kinds of candy inside, from bite-sized Mini Reese's Peanut Butter Cups chocolates to a full-size M&M's package, from gum to Ghirardelli chocolates, and from note cards to gift cards!  Talk about versatility!  This will be a box base you can use again and again!

It's Easy To Make The Lots of Love Box

Simply die-cut two of the box sides with the Lots To Love Box Framelit and fold on the score lines, making crisp creases with a Bone Folder.  Line them up with one flap on the top and one flap on the bottom, then adhere the sides together with a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive.  The flaps will tuck into each end to close the box.  It's truly that easy!

I like using card stock for a sturdy box base, then decorating with Designer Series Paper, but you could certainly use the heavier Specialty DSP for a durable box, too.  The die-cut sides are about 4-1/4" x 6-1/2", so you can comfortably get about 2 sides, or one box, from a sheet of card stock.  You could probably even get 3 sides from one sheet if you position them carefully.  You can comfortably die-cut 4 sides, 2 complete boxes, from one sheet of DSP.

Box Basics—I created this box base from Melon Mambo card stock, cutting out two Lots of Love box sides and adhering them together with Tear & Tape Adhesive.  Next, I adhered 2-3/4" x 4-5/8" piece of striped Painted With Love Specialty Designer Series Paper to both the front and back of the box.

Treat Tag—I punched the end of a 2-3/4" x 3-3/4" piece of Melon Mambo with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch.  I wrapped some gold Love Mini Tinsel around the box and tied it into a knot, then trimmed the ends. I attached the tag over the tinsel with Dimensionals, so that you can't see the knot.  Then, I made a tinsel bow and adhered it separately with a Mini Glue Dot.

Heart Collage—I stamped the Sure Do Love You solid heart image in Calypso Coral onto Whisper White, then die-cut with the heart in the Lots To Love Box Framelits.  It's adhered with SNAIL to the tag.  I stamped the sentiment in Rich Razzleberry onto Whisper White, then hand-trimmed the words and popped them up onto the heart.  The smaller conversation heart is also stamped in Rich Razzleberry, die-cut and popped up.

Gold Leaves—I stamped the leaves in VersaMark ink onto Whisper White, then sprinkled them with Gold Embossing Powder and heat-set with the Heat Tool until glossy & smooth.  I die-cut them with the Lots To Love Box Framelits, then tucked them under the hearts adhered with Mini Glue Dots.

Two Cool—The second box is constructed from Calypso Coral card stock, then decorated with the heart pattern of Painted With Love DSP.

Box Décor—This time, I die-cut a Rich Razzleberry Lots of Labels shape for the collage foundation.  The large heart is stamped in Melon Mambo and the small heart in Calypso Coral.  I stamped the sentiment banner in VersaMark onto Whisper White and embossed with Gold Powder.  I finished the front with a gold Love Mini Tinsel bow, attached with a Mini Glue Dot.

NEW Narrow Love Notes—The new Whisper White Narrow Note Cards & Envelopes are designed to fit inside this cute Lots To Love box!  They measure 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" and have their own cute little white envelopes with a curved flap that matches the look of the box.  We'll be making two of these mini note cards with the Sure Do Love You Class kit and I'll show you those tomorrow!
