Hi Stamping Friends!

We'll be creating two cards at tonight's "Last Thursdays" class that use the new Stamparatus stamp positioning tool.  Some of you may have already gotten your hands on this amazing tool during its early release.  If not, no worries!  It will be available to everyone when the new Annual Catalog is officially released on June 1, 2018!

Today's class card features a cool hinge stamping technique using the Stamparatus that makes it quick & easy to stamp a series of images that are perfectly lined up!

Lovely Inside & Out Stamparatus Hinge Cards

I love the look of the repeating words as a background/sentiment on these Lovely Inside & Out friend cards!  The Stamparatus stamp positioning tool makes it super-easy and fast to stamp the words in perfect alignment!

Retiring Products Featured: Lovely Inside & Out stamp set; Rose Red & Pink Pirouette cardstock; Rose Red & Wild Wasabi ink; Metal-Rimmed Pearls.

Background Basics—This card begins with a retiring Rose Red card base and a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock for the background.  I stamped the "hugs" image five times down the right side of the cardstock, inking it only once in Rose Red ink to achieve a graduated color look.

Stamparatus For Perfect Alignment—This size of stamp happens to be just the right size for a flawlessly spaced series of words using the new Stamparatus!  I started by laying the cardstock on the Stamparatus grid base.  I found it worked best to position the cardstock down 1/4" from the top and 2" from the side.  I lined up the uninked stamp at the top of the paper, then closed the acrylic plate onto the stamp to pick it up.  TIP: The clear-mount stamps will stick better if you do not use the cling sticker.

Next, I inked up the stamp in Rose Red ink and closed the plate back down to stamp the first word.

For the next word, I simply detached the plate from the base and re-positioned it one hinge lower on the tool, then closed the plate to stamp it again, without re-inking.  I continued moving the plate down one hinge slot for each remaining word.  I show the plate down one hinge in the photo, so you can see how it would stamp the second word in the series.  Too Cool!

Garden Bloom—I stamped the Garden In Bloom flower outline image in Soft Suede ink on the left side of the cardstock, adding the leaves outlines on either side, too.  Then, I must have completely lost my mind, because I colored in the flowers manually, rather than use the two-step coordinating images that come in the Garden of Bloom set!  Filling the outlines with the solid color stamp would have most certainly been the easiest way to color the images, and it will be what we do in class.  Instead, my version uses Rose Red and Wild Wasabi inks along with a Blender Pen to color & shade. I topped the flower with a retiring Metal-Rimmed Pearl and surrounded the bloom with a few more floating Basic Pearl Jewels.

Sweet Sentiment—After adhering the stamped and colored background layer, I finished the card by stamping a Lovely Inside & Out sentiment in Soft Suede ink onto a 2-3/4" x 1/2" strip of Pink Pirouette cardstock.  I fishtail cut one end, then popped it up with Dimensionals flush to the right edge.  So pretty!

Two Cool
For my second take, I used an Island Indigo card base, and stamped the "lovely" word with Island Indigo ink four times. I added "friend" as the last word in the series, stamped in Calypso Coral.

Sweet Shimmer SentientI added some Wink of Stella glimmer to the "friend" word—love that shimmer!  I stamped the greeting in Island Indigo ink onto a Pool Party strip, this time.

Beautiful Bloom—I stamped the flowers and leaves outline images in Smoky Slate ink.  And, nope, I still didn't realize that there were solid image stamps I could use to color in the flower & leaves on this second card, either!  Instead, I used Calypso Coral and Wild Wasabi inks and a Blender Pen.  Duh!  I added a little Wink of Stella to the flower, as well!  Lovely!
