Hi Stamping Friends!

Today, I'm so excited to share the first project from my September Stamp-of-the-Month Class Kit featuring the gorgeous sketched images in the Vintage Leaves photopolymer stamp set!  Fall is my favorite season and this stamp set is the perfect stamp set for the season!

Focusing On The Projects!  Starting today, you may notice a slight change in how I post my classes.  I've decided to keep the focus of my blog posts on the actual projects, rather than bog it down with specific class details.  So from now on, you'll get a peek of the class on the main page, and if you want the complete class information, you'll click the link to navigate to another page.  I hope this will make your experience on TooCoolStamping.com more enjoyable!

Vintage Leaves collage - two cool

Lovely Layered Vintage Leaves Cards

The autumn-themed Vintage Leaves stamp set is perfect for both creating focal points and cool backgrounds.  For the first project from my September Stamp-of-the-Month Class, I stamped the sketched leaf images in a fresh fall color combo for a lovely layered collage with pretty golden accents.

Vintage Leaves collage - birthday

Collage Background—I used a 5" x 3-3/4" piece of Very Vanlla card stock for the background and randomly stamped it with five of the different leaves inked in five different colors.  I started with the largest leaves in the darkest colors and filled in the spaces with smaller leaves in lighter colors.

Lovely Leaf Layers

  • Stamp the large maple leaf 3 times in Blackberry Bliss ink.
  • Stamp the large oak leaf 2-3 times in Mossy Meadow ink.
  • Stamp the medium leaf 3 times in Delightful Dijon ink.
  • Stamp the small leaf 5 times in Pool Party ink.
  • Stamp the tiny leaf in Tip Top Taupe ink in all the remaining spaces.

Background Basics—I adhered the stamped layer onto a 5-1/8" x 3-7/8" piece of Delightful Dijon.  After adding a 5" x 1/2" Gold Foil strip across the front, I wrapped Gold Baker's Twine around the whole layer and tied into a double-knot.  It's attached to the Blackberry Bliss card base with Dimensionals.

Sweet Sentiment—I stamped a greeting from the Watercolor Wishes Card Kit in Blackberry Bliss onto Very Vanilla card stock.  I can't get over this amazing, all-occasion stamp set!  I love the font & the words so, so much!  Totally worth buying the whole Watercolor Wishes Card Kit just to get it!

I die-cut the greeting with the Ovals Collection Framelits and popped it up with Dimensionals.  I added a single Gold Sequin accent with a Glue Dot to make it more eye-catching.

Two Cool—I tried a vertical card for my second version.  I used the same leaf-layer recipe as above.

Gold Accents—The single sequin didn't look quite right next to this symmetrical Watercolor Wishes sentiment, so I added three sequins to the background to give it some shiny accents.
