Loyal Leaves You Are My Hero Cards
There are a couple of cool techniques happening on this fall-themed thinking of you card. One is sponging double colors onto the stamp and one is double-time layered stamping. I love these cards so much and I'm featuring both of them as part of the LIVE 5-Card Kit this week!
Background Basics—Do you see how the stamped images flow off of the focal point layer onto the background? I love that look and it's so easy to achieve! I started by tacking down a 4" x 3" piece of Whisper White cardstock onto the Pretty Peacock card base with just a couple of dabs of SEAL Adhesive. Then the stamping was done, with the images going off the edge of the White cardstock onto the card base. There will be a little gap without stamping at the very edge of the cardstock, but that will be covered up later with the mat.
I tied some Pretty Peacock/Old Olive Reversible Ribbon around the card front. Then, the 4-1/4" x 3-1/4" Old Olive mat was added and the layers were popped up onto the card front with Dimensionals. Let's look more closely at the stamping technique…
Sponged Leaves—I stamped the Loyal Leaves sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink onto the 4" x 3" Whisper White layer. For each of the leaf images, I inked the images first in Pear Pizzazz ink, then I used a Sponge Dauber with Pretty Peacock ink to lightly dab color directly onto the rubber before stamping onto the cardstock layers. Be sure to clean the stamp with the Simply Shammy between each image.
I adore the soft two-color look of these leaves with this Too Cool technique! You can try any combination of colors; simply ink with the lighter color and sponge with the darker color.
Finishing Touches—I colored a few Rhinestone Jewels with a Dark Pretty Peacock Stampin' Blends Marker and floated them around the sentiment.
Two Cool—This time, I selected Rich Razzleberry and Pumpkin Pie as the color combination and tried a vertical orientation.
Lovely Leaves—The leaves are inked first in Pumpkin Pie ink and sponged lightly with Rich Razzleberry ink. Ooh, so pretty! The sentiment is in Rich Razzleberry. The stamped layer is mounted onto 4-1/8" x 3-1/8" Pumpkin Pie cardstock and popped up onto the Rich Razzleberry card base.
Finishing Touches—I wrapped these layers with some Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding. The Champagne Rhinestones coordinate perfectly with this color palette! Beautiful!
