I received this sweet friendship card from Christine Bertram. Wheeee! What fun bundle this is! I've already used the Hippo & Friends Dies many, many times because of the super-versatile and classic label shapes. And, the stamp set is wonderful for creating cards that are whimsical & fun!
Background Basics—Christine's card begins with a 4" x 2-1/2" piece of Artistry Blooms Designer Series Paper adhered to the bottom of a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White. She added some Whisper White ribbon from the Flowers For Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack across the layers, then mounted it onto a Magenta Madness card base.
Focal Point Foundation—Christine created a background for her awesome animals by adhering a small piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock, cut with a gentle slope, to a piece of Whisper White. Then, she die-cut the layers with the 2-3/4" wide label shape from Hippo & Friends dies. She layered that on another Magenta Madness die-cut and popped up the layers with Dimensionals onto the card front.
Happy Hippo & Friends—Christine stamped the solid hippo image in stamped-off Highland Heather onto Whisper White cardstock, then stamped over it with the coordinating hippo detailed image in Highland Heather ink. She added the face in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The two-step lamb was created similarly with stamped off Smoky Slate for the solid image and full-strength Smoky Slate for the detailed image. It's face was added with Memento Black, too. Then, both characters were die-cut with Hippo & Friends dies and they were popped up with Dimensionals.
The two-step butterfly was stamped the same way with Magenta Madness ink, die-cut and popped up. Christine finished up by adding a few Artistry Blooms Sequins on the butterfly and under the focal point. So, so sweet!
Hippo Happiness Be A Unicorn Card
This magical card was created by Laura Borchert. It's very similar in design to the previous card, with a few fun changes.
Happy Horse—Laura stamped the two-step Hippo Happiness horse in Magenta Madness ink onto a 5" x 3-3/4" piece of Whisper White. Like the card above, she stamped the solid image in stamped-off color, then added the detail in full-strength, finishing with a Memento Black face. She also added some twinkling stars in Daffodil Delight.
Next, she added a 2" x 3-3/4" piece of the same Artistry Blooms DSP pattern across the left side. Laura added some Daffodil Delight Ruched Ribbon around the layers before adding it to a 5-1/8" x 3-7/8" Daffodil Delight layer. It's mounted onto a Magenta Madness card base.
Sweet Sentiment—Christine stamped the Hippo Happiness sentiment in Magenta Madness onto a Whisper White Hippo & Friends die-cut and popped it up with Dimensionals.
Finishing Touches—She finished by adding some Magenta Madness In Color Enamel Dots around the card front. If I recreated the card, I would probably add a little unicorn horn, which is included in the stamp set, on the horse to better match the sentiment. Either way…adorable!
