Magical Birthday Wishes For You Cards

I wasn't sure I wanted to use the new Birthday Wishes For You stamp set for the Kickoff Party cards! It's the first stamp set shown in the Occasions Catalog, but with only two stamps in it, it didn't appear to have the "wow" factor that other bigger sets have. Most stampers don't even remember seeing this stamp set…it's very easy to overlook! You don't want to miss it, though, because it can help you make fabulous birthday cards and it's a very affordable set! That big birthday outline image has all the bones to make a spectacular focal point!

Background Basics—The vertically folded card is made with Thick Whisper White cardstock for a sturdy base. I embossed a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock with the new Scattered Sequins Dynamic Texture Impressions Folder and mounted it onto the card front with a couple strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive and SNAIL.

The Scattered Sequins folder is another one of those thick, deep texture embossing folders that runs through the Big Shot with only one cutting pad. I love the fun sequin shapes in different sizes randomly falling down the piece, similar to the popular Softly Falling folder.

Ombré Blended Birthday—I stamped the Birthday Wishes For You large image in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto a 4-1/4" x 2-3/4" piece of Whisper White. The sentiment is PERFECT for coloring with Stampin' Blends markers! I colored this one with the dark Pool Party Blends Marker on the tops of the letters and the light Bermuda Bay Blends Marker on the bottoms. I laid down both colors, then blended the line where they met with the dark Pool Party bullet tip. What a pretty ombré look!

Sweet Sentiment Accents—I stamped the "happy" flag from the same image, as well as the second sentiment banner image from the set, onto a scrap of Lemon Lime Twist, then trimmed them out with my super-sharp Paper Snips. I popped them up around the "birthday" word.

Sparkly Details—I added some Myths & Magic sparkly washi tape to the top (the white glitter washi, is kind of hard to see in the photo) and bottom of the stamped piece and that really made the focal point pop! A single Glitter Enamel Dot on the top right adds a nice finishing touch that coordinates beautifully! I popped up the entire layer onto the card front with more Dimensionals.

Wow! I'm loving this card so much, too! It's like the plain stamp got a "too cool" makeover! It's now a fantastic card for birthday boys & girls of any age!

Two Cool—The second card begins with a Bermuda Bay card front on the Thick Whisper White card base.

Shimmery Sequins—I stepped up this card by adding a bit of shimmer to every background sequin texture with the Wink of Stella glimmer pen. That little extra sparkly detail really brings that texture to life! Click on the photo to see it closer.

Dimensional Blends—This time, I colored the image with the light and dark Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Blends Markers. I colored the whole image with the light marker first, then added some shading on the left side of each letter with the darker color. I blended out the stroke lines with the light marker's bullet tip and even lightened some of the color with the Color Lifter Marker. I LOVE how dimensional the letters look!

Everything else on the card is the same as the first. These colors look amazing together, don't you think?!
