Magnolia Lane Rectangle Layers Cards
I love creating with beautiful Designer Series Papers, but it's so difficult to USE it when I love the patterns so much! These cards feature lots of DSP, but I used a quick tip to get the most mileage out of one background piece! That makes it a little easier…LOL!
Print Out A Project Sheet For This Card:
Background Basics—I just wanted a little peek of the Magnolia Lane DSP for my background, but I didn't want to waste it. So I die-cut a Stitched Rectangle shape from the center of the 4" x 5-1/4" piece before I adhered it to the Petal Pink card base. I ended up using the rectangle, but you could save it and use it for another card if you wanted to.
Next, I texture embossed a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Whisper White cardstock with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder. I adhered the rectangle die-cut to the center of that layer. I also added a strip of Petal Pink 5/8" Organdy Striped Ribbon across those layers, securing the ends to the back before adhering them to the card front.
Lovely Label—I die-cut a Whisper White Stitched Nested Label shape measuring approximately 1-3/4" x 3-1/4", then stamped a Good Morning Magnolia sentiment across the bottom in Mossy Meadow ink. It's popped up over the ribbon with Dimensionals.
Magnificent Magnolia—I stamped the Good Morning Magnolia flower in Early Espresso ink onto scrap Whisper White cardstock. I colored it with Stampin' Blends Markers: Petal Pink & Color Lifter for the petals, Light Mossy Meadow for the leaves and Bronze for the stem. I die-cut the shape with the coordinating Magnolia Memory die and popped up the flower with Dimensionals.
Finishing Touches—I added a few Basic Pearl Jewels for soft & pretty accents.
Bundle It & SAVE—Purchase the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set and Magnolia Memory together in a bundle to save 10%!
Two Cool—The second card features a lighter DSP pattern mounted onto a Mossy Meadow card base. This time, the middle layer is a smaller 3-1/4" x 4-1/2" size in Early Espresso cardstock, also embossed with the Subtle folder. Instead of keeping the next DSP layer the same pattern as the background, I flipped it and used the back-side.
Focal Point—I also changed the size of the Nested Label, this time measuring approximately 2" x 3-3/4". I tried a different Good Morning Magnolia sentiment and mounted the flower with a slightly different placement.
