Merriest Trees Spirit of the Season Cards
I wanted to try something a little different with DSP on this card, so I just used a little corner piece to provide a little pattern and set the color combination. This is the perfect little accent to create from 6×6″ DSP patterns because it is just half of a 3″ x 3″ piece!
Background Basics
I started by embossing a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock with the Snowflake Sky Embossing Folder and adhered it to a Pretty Peacock card base. Next, I cut a 3″ x 3″ piece of Wild of the Forest Designer Series Paper diagonally and adhered it to the corner of the embossed layer. I finished the background by tying some Real Red 3/8″ ribbon from the Real Red & Garden Green Ribbon Combo Pack around the card base into a double-knot.
Focal Point Foundation
I die-cut a Basic White Scalloped Contours label and adhered it to the card front with SEAL Adhesive. I added a 1-7/8″ x 3-1/4″ piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock on the scalloped rectangle.
Terrific Tree
I stamped a Merriest Trees large tree image in Pretty Peacock ink onto Basic White, then die-cut it with the Merriest Trees 4-tier die. The tree is popped up with Dimensionals. Next, I stamped the Merriest Trees sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink onto a 3″ x 5/8″ piece of Basic White. I banner cut the ends, then attached it to the tree with SEAL Adhesive.
Decorating The Tree
I stamped the trio of ornaments stamp in both Cherry Cobbler and Granny Apple Green onto Basic White cardstock. The Merriest Trees Dies have 3 ornament trio dies, so die-cutting lots of ornaments is quick and easy! I hung them on the tree with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
I added a Basic White star at the top of the tree. It’s another die shape from the many stars and snowflake shapes from the Merriest Trees Dies!
I finished by adding a little glimmer to the star and ornaments with Wink of Stella! Just lovely!
Two Cool
My second card is in a horizontal orientation. The Garden Green background is embossed with the new Christmas Tidings Folder. I chose another pattern of the Walk In The Forest DSP for the corner and mounted the layers onto a Garden Green card base. I used a different Real Red ribbon, this time from the Real Red & Burlap Ribbon Combo Pack.
Terrific Tree
The focal point backdrop is once again in Granny Apple Green and the tree itself is stamped in Garden Green ink. The sentiment is the same as the first card, adhered to the tree first for positioning of the decorations. Ornaments are Cherry Cobbler and Granny Apple Green, just like the first card, plus I added lots of Cherry Cobbler Festive Pearls to really dress it up. No star needed this time!
