Hi Stamping Friends!
 

It's a beautiful autumn day here in Fort Wayne, IN, but I have to say that I'm in full Christmas card making mode!  Have you thought about what you'll be making for your holiday cards yet?  Don't wait! Now is the time to get prepared!

Today, I'm featuring one of the 6 projects we'll be creating with the Festival of Trees class kit!

Merry & bright tree - two cool               

All of the projects in the Festival of Trees kit are in crisp, wintery blues and greens from the All Is Calm Designer Series Paper!  It's hands-down my favorite paper pack this holiday season!  This card design uses my favorite snowflake pattern—love, love, LOVE!

Background Basics—I began with a Lost Lagoon card base and added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White that has been embossed with the Decorative Dots Folder.  That bold, random dot pattern really gives the feel of a snowy background, don't ya think?!

Dotted Tree Focal Point—I stamped the dotted Festival of Trees tree image in Pear Pizzazz ink onto a scrap piece of Whisper White.  I used a second dotted stamp (two-step stamping) to add the Lost Lagoon ornament dots over the top.  Because it's all-clear photopolymer, I could see right through it for easy positioning. 
 
Cutting out the tree is also easy with the coordinating Tree Punch.  I've included both the stamp set and the punch in the class kit!  You'll have everything you need—just add inks and adhesives!

Sparkly, Sparkly—I had to add some sparkle to my tree, so I used the 2-Way Glue Pen to adhere Dazzling Diamonds glitter along the lines.  Now it looks like glittering garland! Yippee!
 
My tree is popped up over a Label Collection Framelits die-cut in Whisper White.

All Is Calm Layer—The backdrop for my focal point is that pretty Lost Lagoon snowflake patterned All Is Calm DSP, cut to 2-3/4" x 4 and matted on a 3" x 4-1/4" piece of Pear Pizzazz card stock.  I wrapped a piece of Pear Pizzazz 1/4" Cotton Ribbon around the layer, tied it in a double-knot and trimmed, then adhered it to the card front with SNAIL.

Sweet Sentiment—The Pear Pizzazz greeting is from the Good Greetings Hostess Set that is available exclusively to hostesses that have a $300 or more workshop through October 31, 2014.  This set is so versatile—it has tons of fun seasonal greetings from Halloween to Valentine's Day.  I love the sweet font and small size that fits perfectly on a Modern Label Punch shape.  Learn more about the Good Greetings promo.

I added one Rhinestone Jewel to give my glittery garland some company.

All of these same card elements balance well on the horizontal, too!  I might even like this configuration better!  What do you think?
