Merry Café Hello Fall Cards

I love the Coffee Café stamp set, so I was very excited to see the Merry Café coordinating set in the Holiday Catalog. Woohoo…more creative possibilities!

Now, we have more fantastic phrases to dress up the original coffee cup and celebrate the fall and winter seasons, all the way into the new year!  How fun!  I paired the images with the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper for a fabulous fall feel.

Background Basics—I thought a wood texture for the background would add to the autumn style of this card, so I embossed the 5" x 3-3/4" Very Vanilla background with the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder.  I layered it onto a 5-1/8" x 3-7/8" Early Espresso mat, using SNAIL adhesive with a couple of strips of Tear & Tape adhesive for a secure hold.  I added a 5" x 1-1/2" layer of Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper across the background.

I wrapped some of the 3/8" Crushed Curry Mini Chevron Ribbon around the two layers and tied it into a double-knot.  Then, I mounted the background onto a Soft Sky card base.

Autumn BrewI stamped the Merry Café coffee cup outline in Early Espresso onto a pattern from the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper, then die-cut the shape with the Coffee Cup Framelits.  The Early Espresso lid was also die-cut with the framelits, then adhered to the top of the cup with SNAIL.

The coffee cup wrap was die-cut from Very Vanilla card stock, then stamped in Cajun Craze ink with the pumpkin spice latte phrase.  I adhered it with SNAIL, then popped up the entire cup with Dimensionals over the ribbon.

Leaf Accent—I finished the card by die-cutting a small Cajun Craze maple leaf with the Seasonal Layers Thinlits and popping it with with a Dimensional.  A single Pearl Jewel adds a shiny detail on the leaf.  I topped off the cup with a Pool Party Baker's Twine bow, adhered with a pinched Glue Dot.

Two Cool—I used some darker fall colors for my second version.  This time I tried an Early Espresso chevron pattern of Painted Autumn DSP for the background.  What a pretty, contrasting pattern! I also added two small banners, both fishtail cut on one end: 4" x 3/4" Cajun Craze and 4-1/2" x 1/2" Soft Sky.

The cup is cut from the square dotted DSP this time and instead of a leaf, I cut a pumpkin from one of the Painted Autumn sheets.
