Michelle’s 3D Punched Hydrangea Card

I love seeing what other demonstrators create!  Here's a pretty card that Michelle Hoover brought to our Too Cool Demo Meeting swap:

Because i care - michelle punch layers

Michelle used the new Because I Care Level 1 Hostess Set with Marina Mist, Pear Pizzazz and Early Expresso colors.  <<<See, I'm not the only one who likes this color combination!

I love how the lightly flecked Naturals Ivory card stock and lightly sponged background gives the card more of an antiqued appearance. But, wait…what's that…?

Wow!  That Hydrangea!

My very favorite part of her card is the 3D hydrangea!  Do you see
all the layers and layers of the four-petal flowers stacked on the
flower—it looked like a real hydrangea!

You may be wondering whether Michelle's hand fell off cutting out all those petals, but worry not, her limbs are still intact.  Rather than cutting out each individual flower, she stamped and
colored a bunch of the small flower images, then punched them out with
the four-petal flower punch in the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack.  The
individual hydrangea flower in the stamp set is almost the same size as
the punch!  Too Cool!

Other Card Details:
The flower was colored with ink and blender pens.  The knotted Linen
Thread
and faux stitching around the edges with an Early Expresso
marker
add lovely touches.  The background was embossed with the Vintage
Wallpaper Impressions Folder
, then sponged around the edges with
Early Expresso to bring out
the texture and "age."

Thanks for sharing your beautiful card
and hydrangea tips, Michelle!

You could also use the punch with plain card stock to create your own punched hydrangea like this one by Stampin King on Splitcoast Stampers.  Check out her hydrangea tutorial on making these awesome 3D flowers!

These cute little petals are punched from Bashful Blue card stock and sponged around the edges before being adhered to a punched circle with Glue Dots.  Isn't that fabulous?!
