I think that a member of my downline, Michelle Hoover, has convinced me to play with my My Digital Studio again! She put together a fantastic calendar in only a few days, and had it professionally printed through Stampin' Up! to give as presents to her family for Christmas.
She showed me one of the calendars and I was very impressed with the quality of the printing (and packaging)—it was AWESOME!
What Is My Digital Studio?
My Digital Studio (MDS) is a papercrafting software that uses Stampin' Up! stamp images, Designer Series Papers, punches, and virtual embellishments to create a kinds of digital projects!
Not only can you create professionally printed scrapbooks and photo albums, you can also make calendars, journals, individual cards and invitations, photo slide shows with sound, and unlimited digital graphics that you can print from your own printer or use on your blog or website!
Find out more by visiting MyDigitalStudio.net, a special website/forum run by Stampin' Up! especially for My Digital Studio enthusiasts. Go there to see instructional videos and project samples, pricing for printing, plus an entire forum for finding answers to your MDS questions.
The original software comes with hundreds of stamp images (some current, some retired), dozens of Designer Paper background patterns, plus current (and retired) ink colors.
But, the really cool part is that Stampin' Up! is continuing to offer new downloads all the time! New stamp "brush" sets, new backgrounds, exclusive MDS kits, color-coordinated embellishments…all kinds of fun stuff to play with! You can see the current select of additional downloads you can purchase at my online store: MDS downloads. They have already started offering some of the 2011 Occasions Mini items as My Digital Studio downloads, too! Check out the New 2011 Mini Downloads.
Now, let's see Michelle's project!
Michelle's 2011 12×12" Calendar
The photos of this beautiful, spiral-bound calendar don't do it justice, but at least you can see some of the things you can do with MDS. Click to enlarge to see the pages up close.
Cover Page—Michelle used a ghosted photo as the background for each page.
She started with a calendar template that had all the numbers and lines in place. She could modify the fonts, and add/delete type (she deleted the "2011" and added reminders for special dates). The Calendar Basics download had all kinds of special date words in it.
Michelle selected a handful of page templates to modify and use throughout the project.
The edges are created with a download called Torn Edges (shown at the right).
I like the way she added some history about the places they were visiting. Google the info, then cut and paste it in the font you like.
The cool part is that after the calendar year is over, she can use the pages in an actual scrapbook. Or, she could take the pages from her online calendar projects and create another hard-cover scrapbook in My Digital Studio! Once you create your page once, you can print it (or modify it) as many times as you like! It's so versatile!
OK Michelle! You've definitely convinced me to get back into My Digital Studio!

I’m not big on scrapbooking digitally but I do love how easy it seems to make a calendar. I don’t know if I’ll ever try it but if given the opportunity, I would!
