Michelle’s Secret Garden White Washing Card

Today's project is a swap card created by Michelle Hoover from Hoover's Dam Stamping.  It uses the lovely Secret Garden flowers with a cool white washing technique to create a beautiful floral background on Soft Suede.  I'm so loving this look!

To make the colorful flowers pop on any color of card stock, even dark card stock, you just use a 3-step white washing process:

  1. Emboss the line image with White Embossing Powder.
  2. Using an Aqua Painter, color over the entire image with White Craft Ink.  Let dry.
  3. Use a Blender Pen with Classic Ink to color and shade the image.

Michelle used Midnight Muse ink to shade her flowers, then stamped some Gumball Green leaves from the Secret Garden set.

The polka dot panel was created with a strip of Midnight Muse 2012-2014 In Color Designer Series Paper on Whisper White card stock.  The border was cut with the Adorning Accents Edgelits.

She used the Blooming With Kindness sentiment in Midnight Muse ink, die-cut with the Ovals Collection Framelits. Another Baja Breeze oval frames the phrase.
