Today, I'm sharing two cool projects that Michelle Hoover created for a recent class.  I only have one photo of each, but I think you'll love the fun techniques that she used.  Let's take a look!

Michelle - Something Lacey 1
Inspired by Amanda at The Craft Spa.

#1 Cheers To Love Something Lacy Card
This wedding card is over-the-top pretty!  It features the retiring Cheers To Love (wood) stamp set, as well as the gorgeous Something Lacy (wood) background stamp from the Occasions Catalog (Hint: Something Lacy didn't make it into the new Annual Catalog, so it's "retiring," too).

The card also features two cool techniques: Kissing & Gel-Pen Highlighting!

Gel Pen Highlighting—Michelle started by stamping the Something Lacy pattern in Black Memento Ink onto a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Crumb Cake card stock. Using the Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Marker, she colored in the flowers on the image to create a tone-on-tone look.  Then, she took it to the next level by adding White Gel Pen highlights to some of the flowers and flower centers!  Fantastic!

Cheers To You Focal Point—Michelle shortened the actual sentiment, "Cheers to love, laughter and happily ever after" to "Cheers to love…happily ever after" by only inking part of the image at one time, eliminating the middle words. TIP: Clean your stamp really well in between partial stamping to prevent a ghosted image from showing up.  I like to check the cleanliness by first stamping on scrap paper to be safe.

Groovy Kissing—The center heart is from the Groovy Love (wood) stamp set. The image is actually a solid heart with a simple ampersand in the center.  Michelle added the pattern using the Kissing Technique.  Here's how:
  • Ink the Something Lacy background stamp with Memento Black Ink.
  • Ink the Groovy Love solid heart stamp with Crumb Cake ink.
  • "Kiss" the inked Groovy Love heart stamp to the inked background stamp, rubber-to-rubber.  This will transfer the floral pattern to the heart stamp.
  • Stamp the heart onto a piece of Whisper White card stock.
  • Color in the flower images with the Crumb Cake marker.
  • Highlight some of the images with the White Gel Pen.
  • Punch out the shape with the Sweetheart Punch.
  • Pop up with Dimensionals.

Oh how I adore this card!  So very lovely!

Traveler Reflection - Michelle

CASEd from Janine Tinklenberg at Stamps Paper Scissors.

#2 Traveler Reflection Father's Day Card

Michelle's second card also features the Too Cool Reflection technique, and it's really simple to do!

Reflecting Ship—Michelle started by inking up the ship image from the Traveler (wood) set with Memento Black Ink and stamping it onto the Very Vanilla card stock.  Then, she inked it up again and stamped it onto a Window Sheet.  To create the reflection, simply position the inked side of the Window Sheet underneath the stamped ship, lay it onto the card stock and burnish over the top with your fingertips to transfer the upside-down image.  So awesome!

Finishing Touches—Michelle added the look of water by using an Aqua Painter to wash Marina Mist ink over the bottom.  The sentiment is from the Guy Greetings (wood, photopolymer) stamps set and the background is decorated with Typeset Designer Series Paper

Both of Michelle's cards give the WOW factor, don't you think?!  I can't wait to try these out myself!
