Hi Stamping Friends,
Missing you. That phrase definitely sums up my feelings today. I've missed you all so much and I'm so looking forward to stamping with you again! I am now home from Florida and am eager to get back to my blogging and classes.
Upcoming Classes—I'll be returning to my class schedule beginning with my local "Last Thursdays" class on March 31, 2016. Then, mark your calendars for my Stamper Sampler class on April 14 featuring an "I'm Bringing Birthdays Back" Stamp-a-Stack. And, we'll be resuming my Stamp-of-the-Month classes in April, too! Stay tuned for complete details, coming soon!
My dad & his dog, Jake.
Missing You—It is with a heavy heart that I must share that my dad, Thomas Putman, passed away peacefully on March 10. I was so fortunate to have been able to spend time with him and care for him during his last 7 weeks. After struggling with multiple health challenges over the past 9 years, I'm comforted knowing that my dad is now at peace. We had a beautiful service with military honors for him last week and I was humbled by the outpouring of love for this gentle, kind and honest soul. He truly touched many lives, and I know he will continue to touch mine. He already has in so many ways. His funeral program included a special list that I wrote in his Father's Day card last year. The things that he's taught me are the best indicators of the type of man he was:
Dad's Life Lessons—by Angie Leach, June, 2015.
- Work hard, play hard.
- Always be prompt.
- If you can't afford it, don't buy it.
- Save for a rainy day.
- It's OK to cry.
- All animals are precious.
- Surround yourself with good friends.
- Dance, dance, dance.
- Have an opinion; stand for something.
- Love your country.
- Honesty really is the best policy.
- Humor can lighten the mood.
- Be loyal to the ones you love.
- Compete, but be fair.
- Forgive and love with your whole heart.
I've included one of my favorite photos of my dad and me, taken more than 20 years ago, along with his dogs, Sadie & Sam. Sadie was the mama-dog to my late dogs, Lucky & Lucy.
Love you and miss you so much, Dad.

Created by Jackie Bolhuis at Klompen Stampers.
Missing You—I couldn't have created a more appropriate "Missing You" card than this one by Jackie Bolhuis. Coincidentally, my dad restored an old bench for me about 18 months ago, so this empty bench scene is particularly poignant.
Simple Watercoloring—Jackie created this card with the Happy Home stamp set, which is designed to coordinate with the Hearth & Home Thinlits window frame. The image is stamped in Archival Black ink on a 2-1/2" square piece of Shimmery White card stock. Then, it's colored with an Aqua Painter or Blender Pen dipped in Soft Sky, Pear Pizzazz, Chocolate Chip and Cherry Cobbler (for the flower) Classic Inks. It's mounted on a 2-5/8" square piece of Cherry Cobbler card stock, then popped up onto a Shimmery White card base with Dimensionals.
Finishing Touches—Jackie wrapped some Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine around the card front and tied it in a bow for a simple & sweet finishing touch.
