Hi Stamping Friends!

Today, I'm sharing part 2 of my Founder's Circle Trip Highlights.  If you missed them, you can see the Part 1 Highlights here.

We're up to the evening of Day 2, which was also my birthday!  It was definitely a great way to celebrate!

Founder's Circle Highlights…Day 2 continued

Business share 2

Kicking Off A Night of Fun—After doing stuff on our own during the day, we gathered together in our PJs for a Pajama Party & Card Swap event!  Interim CEO Sara Douglass had some announcements, then we had an open mic to share a business tip.  I had a tip to share, and when I stood up, someone shouted, "happy birthday," which prompted everyone to start singing "happy birthday" to me!  Being the crybaby that I am, I burst into tears!  It was a great moment!

Better Your Business Gift—Before we went on the trip, we were asked to submit a business tip to the trip coordinators.  During our Business Share at the Pajama Party, they surprised us with a gift of all of the business tips from everyone printed up and bound on a ring.  What a great resource!  I LOVE this!

Hotel staff thanking us

Hotel Thank Yous—I thought it was really touching that the staff at Courtyard by Marriott came to the front and thanked us for having our event there over the years and said how much they were going to miss us!  We actually take over the whole hotel for the week, so they love us being there…they don't have to check in or check out anyone for 5 days!  LOL!

Best For Last Tees—Most of us wore a commemorative T-shirt that Tamra Davis designed and printed for us to purchase. They say, " They saved the best for last" and they are covered in rhinestone bling!  So cute and a great keepsake!

Biggest fan cynthia

My Biggest Fan—Cynthia Millan made my day by claiming to be my biggest fan!  What a sweetheart!

Swap Time—Next, we all lined up through the lobby and down the hall to start swapping our cards!  We each made 110 cards with an Anything Goes theme!  I couldn't wait to see what everyone had made, and I'll be sharing examples on upcoming blog posts.  I've already CASEd a couple for classes!

Sara swapping

End of the Line—Sara Douglass was at the end of our swap line.  I love how she hung her swap bag, which we all received, around her neck to collect her swaps.

Checking out the swaps

Clockwise from left: Sandy Carlson, Selene Kempton, Jenn Gulch, Ann Schach, Eldonna Epp & Angela Waters.

Checking Out Our Swaps—We all ended up in the Gathering Place to unload our swaps and see what everyone created!

Founder's Circle Highlights…Day 3

Kanab workers welcome 1

Visiting Kanab—On the third day, we took a 2-hour bus trip to the Stampin' Up! manufacturing plant in Kanab, UT.  When our bus pulled up, all of the workers were outside waving and cheering!

Touring The Plant—Another one of my favorite parts of the trip was getting a tour of how everything is made!  So interesting!

Cutting rubber sheets

Putting Us To Work—I was the only "newbie" in our tour group, so everyone made sure that I got to try everything out!  Here, I donned some gloves and cut rubber sheets that were ready for burning.

Peeling rubber off the plate

Careful, It's Hot!—Next, I peeled the rubber sheets off of the plate after they were imprinted.

Applying the foam to the rubber

Die-Cutting The Stamps—I chickened out on lining up the stamps for the die-cutting machine.  I wasn't going to be responsible for someone's misaligned stamps!

Die-cut rubber

This is the stamp set we were working on…do you recognize it?

Packing wood blocks in the stamp set case

Packing Blocks—I learned how they package up the wood blocks for the wood mount sets using a template for each stamp set.  It was like putting together a jigsaw puzzle!

FREE Warm Wishes set

Sample, Sample—When we were done packing the sets, we got to take one home!  Warm Wishes!

Card stock being collated

Packing Card Stock—We learned how the card stock is cut from large sheets, then packaged up.  We receive a pack of In Color assorted card stock to take home.

Fun with paper strips

Linda Gutierrez & Sandy Carlson

Playing With The Paper Scraps—Silly girls can't stay out of trouble!

Photopolymer quality control

Photopolymer Stamps—We also got to see how the photopolymer stamps were created.  Here, workers inspect each sheet of stamps for imperfections.

Defective stamps

Defective Bonus—They mark imperfections with a big red pen.  I offered to help them get rid of this defective set!

Pick your ink pad

Which One Should I Choose?—After learning how they assembled ink pads, we got to select the Regal ink pad of our choice to take home.  I selected Island Indigo!

Thank You Tour Group—A special shout-out to all of the lovely ladies in my tour group for making my experience extra-special!

Getting the news at kanab - linda

Missing Make & Takes—It was about this time that I received the news from my husband that my dog wasn't doing very well and we decided to let him go.  So, I missed the make & take part, as well as a tour of the cute apartment on top of the plant where corporate team members stay when visiting.  I was pretty much on blubbering autopilot through our BBQ lunch with the Kanab workers, too.

Goodbye, Kanab—We gathered outside for another group shot before we left. Click to enlarge.

Rubber park photo

Rubber Park—Next, we traveled to a park in Kanab that uses the left over rubber pieces as their very bouncy mulch.  I was so distraught over my dog that I didn't even want a photo.  Thankfully, somebody ordered me to put on my sunglasses, sit on the slide and pick up a handful of rubber bits for a photo, or I was going to regret it later!  I honestly don't remember who said it, or who took my photo, but I'm so glad that I didn't completely miss this photo op!  Thank you!  If it was you, please remind me!

Tuachan theatre

Tuacahn Theatre—That night, we traveled to the gorgeous Tuacahn Theatre to watch a show called When You Wish featuring a medley of Disney productions.  It was a beautiful location with the canyon as the backdrop, but again, I was a little too upset about my Lucky dogger to fully appreciate the experience.   There sure were big ups and big downs on this trip!

That's all for today!  I've got just a few more photos from our last day coming tomorrow in Part 3!  Thanks for indulging me!

I'd Love To Hear From You! Leave me a comment at the bottom of the page!

  1. In spite of the sad news about your doggy it looks like the trip will be remembered for a long time. So glad you have the photos since your mind was a long way off for the second half of the day. Congrats on making it before this wonderful trip was history!
