Happy Halloween weekend! I have a special Halloween treat for you at the bottom of my post, and it involves FREE stamping stuff! So, even if you don't have time for dogs and luminaries, scroll down for the Happy Halloween Treat details!
Now for a funny story. Yesterday, I was trying to get a good photo of my dog's cute dog-butt (yes, I like my Lucky's cute dog-butt, and do you know how difficult it is to get a picture of it when he is following my every move?).
Anyway, yesterday, he happens to lay down in my office, cute dog-butt positioned perfectly, and I happen to have my camera right there, so I quietly open it up and…click…
Got it! :-) See it IS pretty cute! (Or, maybe it's only a dog-butt a mother can love?)
I uploaded the picture to my computer, and as I turned off the camera, it made a horrendous noise… Some (apparently very important) part of it broke, the screen went blank, it locked up…Dead. Ugh.
So, what does this have to do with Luminaries? Well, with no camera, I can't show you the awesome projects I've been working on this week! Until I can get my photography issue resolved, I'm gonna get by with a little help from my friends! Thankfully, they have awesome projects I can show you!
Michelle Hoover recently sent me some photos of a lovely luminary project she created.
Wow! She put a lot of work into this one! The sides are created from thin chipboard (she used the backing that comes in the Designer Series Paper packs), and each side is covered with a different pattern from the Autumn Spice DSP.
Michelle decorated panels of Vellum Card Stock to cover the windows on each side. I love that she made each of the stamped panels different, so you can get a new look depending on which side you display.
This side was stamped with the Autumn Harvest set using the masking technique to create the scene. She used ink and Blender Pens to watercolor the images.
This side uses the French Foliage stamp set with a pretty collage look.
It looks like she brayered a multicolored background on this pane before stamping the silhouette image from the Just Believe set.
The Lovely As A Tree stamp, over a sponged background, finishes off the last pane.
To assemble, Michelle punched two holes in each side with the Crop-A-Dile, then laced some ribbon through them. Add a battery-powered tealight, and you have a lovely illuminated decoration for your Fall festivities!
Thanks so much for allowing me to share your beautiful project, Michelle! (If it were anyone else, I would certainly be apologizing right now for pairing a stamping project with dog-butts. However, I know Michelle loves dogs, she has two of her own, and can appreciate my affection for their cute rear-ends.)
