Varied Vases Simple & Pretty Cards
After playing with several new stamp sets from the upcoming catalog, I'd have to say that the Varied Vases stamp set is easily one of my favorites! The set includes lots of little vases in outlines, solid shapes and patterns, along with a lovely assortment of flowers to add to the vases. Plus, there's a coordinating Vases Builder Punch to help you cut out those tiny pieces!
This set was inspired by Million Dollar sales achiever Mary Fish and her Stampin' Pretty style!
Background Basics—I CASEd this card directly from a sample in the new catalog on page 45. This card begins with a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Lemon Lime Twist that's been embossed with the Simple Stripes Texture Impressions Folder. I attached the layer with Tear & Tape Adhesive for a secure hold.
Lovely Layers—I adhered a 3" x 3-1/4" layer of Powder Pink card stock to the card front as a foundation for the focal point. Next, I added some SNAIL Adhesive over the center of the square and added some new 5/8" Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon over the top, laying it back-and-forth across the width of the card.
Pretty Vase—I started by stamping a couple of Varied Vases tulip stems in Lemon Lime Twist ink onto a 2-3/4" x 3" piece of Whisper White cardstock. Then, I stamped the leaf outline image onto scrap White cardstock, filling in the center with the solid leaf image in the same ink stamped off once. It's punched out with the Vases Builder Punch. I stamped the vase in Bermuda Bay onto scrap, and punched that out as well. And I stamped the outline tulip image in Melon Mambo and the solid center in the same ink stamped off once. Those tiny tulip shapes are also part of the punch!
To assemble, I adhered the leaf to the back of the vase, then popped up the vase and two roses with Mini Dimensionals.
Finishing Touches—I stamped the Varied Vases sentiment in Melon Mambo ink next to the vase, then popped up the layer onto the card front with Dimensionals. Before adding a few floating Rhinestone Jewels, I colored them on the rhinestone sheet with the dark Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blends Markers. I LOVE altering rhinestones this way!
Two Cool—I tried out a couple of new Color Revamp colors on my second version!
Background Basics—The background Mint Macaron layer was embossed with the Quilt Top Embossing Folder this time, then mounted onto a Mint Macaron card base. The mat layer is the new Petal Pink color, which is a lighter version of the new Grapefruit Grove In Color.
Sweet Flowers—I stamped another vase shape from Varied Vases, this time in Berry Burst ink. The leaves are stamped in Mint Macaron and the tulips and sentiment are stamped in Grapefruit Grove. I added some Artisan Pearls, part of the Share What You Love Bundles currently available, around the blooms.
