Springtime Foils DSP With Stampin' Blends Cards

The foil patterns on the Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Papers are gorgeous on their own, but they become phenomenal when you add color with Stampin' Blends Markers! Just one little colored strip makes a spectacular impact on any card! We made one of these cards at our Too Cool Team event on Monday and it was a big hit!

Background Basics—I selected a Basic Black card base to really make the DSP pop!

Fancy Foils—I colored a 2" x 5-1/2" strip of the floral Springtime Foils pattern with Pool Party dark and Old Olive dark Stampin' Blends Markers. The finish on the paper is not as absorbent as cardstock, so the color floats and pools on it a little bit, giving it a lovely watercolor look. I didn't do any shading, but I love using the brush tip end for coloring…it fills the areas so quickly with rich color!

This DSP looks like it's mainly copper foil, but the description in the flyer says it's rose gold—so pretty! There are also some gold accents in the paper, too.

Awesome Accents—I layered the foil DSP onto a 2-1/4" x 5-1/2" strip of Old Olive cardstock, then adhered it to the card base. I wrapped some of Whisper White Organza Ribbon around the card front and tied it into a double-knot faux-bow. Oh, I just adore that ribbon! It's currently on backorder and not orderable until February 26. No worries! Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the sentiment from Heartfelt Blooms, another Sale-a-Bration selection, in VersaMark ink onto Whisper White cardstock, then embossed with Copper Embossing Powder. It's punched out with the Tailored Tag Punch then popped up over a Pool Party Everyday Label Punch shape with Dimenstionals.
