Hi Stamping Friends!
Wow! Can you believe we are at the end of 2013? For, me, closing out the year always brings a mixture of hope with a twinge of sadness. On the one hand, I'm SO very excited about all of the plans and possibilities that are coming up in the new year, like our Leadership Event next week, and my new Spring Classes! Woohoo! But at the same time, I'm sad that Christmas is over, and the Holiday Catalog is almost over and I feel like there are so many things I wanted to do, but they didn't quite get done. Know what I mean?
Ultimately, 2014 is like a clean slate…a fresh beginning…and looking ahead is what I'm gonna do! Well, maybe not quite yet…there's still a few more days of the Holiday Catalog!

Today, I'm having one last fling with a few items from the Holiday Catalog that aren't returning: Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper, Expressions Thinlits and Pretty Print Texture Impressions Folder. <sadface>
Cool Background—The cool Soft Sky plaid and Chocolate Chip chevron papers from the Sweater Weather DSP make the perfect background for a masculine Valentine. I layered 2" x 3-3/4" and 3" x 3-3/4" pieces onto a 5-1/4" x 4" Chocolate Chip mat, then mounted it onto a Soft Sky card base.
What's New Year's Eve Without A Little Champagne?! I absolutely love the Glimmer Paper with the Expressions Thinlits and Champagne looks amazing! It picks up all the warm colors on this card. Thanks, Dawn Olchefske, for the inspiration! (And, it looks even better in real life!)
TIP: Be sure to use wax paper and run your Thinlit through the Big Shot back & forth several times to ensure that the word pops out easily.
TIP: SNAIL won't work with Glimmer Paper. Try Tombow Multipurpose Adhesive instead.
Hearts—The larger heart is from the Best of Love Collector stamp set, inked in Soft Sky, stamped onto Very Vanilla and hand-cut. The medium heart is from the Best of Shelli collector stamp set, inked in Chocolate Chip and hand-cut. Don't forget that all of "Best of 25 Years" collector stamps are available only for a limited time until March 31, 2014.
I added a Small Heart punch from the Champagne Glimmer Paper for a sparkling accent. It matches the 1/8" wide strip of Champagne Glimmer Paper I adhered to the seam of the background papers. A nice finishing touch. Dang, I couldn't get a good photo of that "love" being all sparkly-sparkly for the life of me!
I also used different Sweater Weather DSP on this card for a whole different look. All of the elements are the same, but everything is is Sahara Sand, Whisper White and Silver. This card has a much softer look, so I used the Pretty Print texture for the smaller background panel.
Both hearts are stamped in Sahara Sand onto Whisper White, hand-cut and popped up with Dimensionals.
I think this monochromatic version is my favorite! And, look! The Silver Glimmer Paper is one of the Weekly Deals specials this week only! Woot! #stockinup
