Night In Bethlehem Blessed Christmas Gate-Fold Cards
The Night In Bethlehem city silhouette may be a horizontal image, but it works equally well on vertical cards! I love how it looks on a Lots of Labels die-cut on these fancy fold gate-fold cards. We'll be making both versions with in the Night In Bethlehem Class Kits!
Background Basics—The 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" Pear Pizzazz card base was scored along the long side at 2-1/8" and 6-3/8" to create the gate folds. TIP: Line up the edges of the two ends in the center of the card first, making sure they are even and flush, before creasing the score lines with a Bone Folder.
Gate-Fold Décor—I added a 1-7/8" x 5-1/4" layer from the Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper on the left gate fold. I embossed a 1-7/8" x 5-1/4" piece of Old Olive card stock with the Sparkle Texture Impressions Folder for the other panel.
Lovely Label—I stamped the Night In Bethlehem sentiment in Old Olive ink onto the bottom of a Whisper White Lots of Labels die-cut. Next, I die-cut the Basic Black city with the Bethlehem Edgelits Dies. There are two different dies that layer together and I used the smaller one. I adhered the die-cut to the label with Multipurpose Glue, then trimmed off the extra hanging off the edges. I stamped the Night In Bethlehem image in Archival Black, then die-cut the shape with the Bethlehem Edgelits and popped it up with Mini Dimensionals.
TIPS: The Archival Black ink will give you the best crisp, clean, and solid black image. Be sure to stamp on a Piercing Mat or another firm, but cushioned surface like a catalog.
Bundle It & Save—Purchase the Night In Bethlehem stamp set and Bethlehem Edgelits Dies together in a Bundle and save 10% off the cost of ordering them separately.
Mounting The Focal Point—Once the label is decorated, it's mounted on the left gate fold with Dimensionals. I like to flip the label over, top-to-bottom, and position it over the card front, then add Dimensionals. That way I can easily see where the gates meet, so I don't add any Dimensionals on the right side.
Finishing Touches—I finished up by adding a Silver Glimmer die-cut of the Star of Bethlehem, also popped up with Dimensionals. I also added a couple of Rhinestone Jewels on the edge of the buildings for some sparkle.
