Hi Stamping Friends!
Have you fallen in love with the Night In Bethlehem stamp set yet? I sure have! Every card I see makes me love it more! I originally thought this set was a little bit of a one-trick-pony…I mean how many times can you spotlight the cityscape silhouette? But, because of the awesome layering die-cuts and cool coordinating stamped images, the entire bundle lends itself to all kinds of Too Cool techniques!
The ones I feature in this month's Stamp-of-the-Month class barely scratch the surface! I've seen some amazing cards with metallic embossing, with clear emboss ink resist, with the die-cuts used as a mask with sponging…so many fun techniques! If you love the images, I promise that you'll get a lot of mileage with this set!
Today, I'm sharing another pair of Night In Bethlehem cards that we'll be creating with the class kit.

Night In Bethlehem Season of Joy Recessed City Cards
I think the highlight of the Night In Bethlehem bundle are the two building die-cuts that layer together, beautifully staggered, to create an awesome landscape. For these two class cards, I made one of the layers in Silver Foil and added an oval layer for a shadow box effect.
Background Basics—I started by adhering a 5-1/4" x 4" Whisper White layer onto a Basic Gray card base. I also die-cut an oval window from a 5-1/8" x 3-7/8" Pool Party layer with the Layering Ovals Framelits.
Bethlehem Recessed Window—I used the Bethlehem Edgelits Dies along with the Precision Base Plate and the Big Shot to create the city layers. The larger die-cut is in Basic Gray card stock and the smaller die-cut is in Silver Foil. TIP: Using the Precision Base Plate will keep those little bumps from showing up on your foil. I forgot to use it and ended up with bumps on my card above. Remember that the Precision Base Plate is only for intricate dies, not framelits that are open in the middle.
I adhered the die-cuts onto the card front, using the oval window layer to help with positioning.
Oval & Accents—Before I attached the oval window layer, I wrapped some White Baker's Twine around the top and tied on a Year of Cheer Embellishment. That layer is popped up with LOTS of Dimensionals! You could also use Foam Strips, but the thickness is different than the Dimensionals, so once you select one type of foam, stick to it. Stick to it! See what I did there? LOL!
Sweet Sentiment—I stamped the large Night In Bethlehem sentiment on a 4-1/4" x 7/8" piece of Whisper White card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I cut one end into a fish-tail, then added a 1-1/2" x 1/2" fish-tailed strip of Silver Foil to the back before adhering to the card front. Finally, I stamped the Night In Bethlehem image in Basic Gray Archival ink on Whisper White, then die-cut it and adhered it with SNAIL. I finished with a single Rhinestone Jewel.
Bundle It & Save—Purchase the Night In Bethlehem stamp set and Bethlehem Edgelits Dies together in a Bundle and save 10% off the cost of ordering them separately.
